In reply to: [Twenty Twelve] [Theme: Twenty Twelve] nav bar fails in IE8Correction.
On Drew’s patch, I do see dropdown items from the top row of menu options. Due to the lack of color contrast, they are difficult to see, but they are there.

In reply to: [Twenty Twelve] [Theme: Twenty Twelve] nav bar fails in IE8Drew:
Your horizontal nav works on my Win XP computer in IE8. The menu appears in two rows, which is what I assume was your intention. Dropdown menus work from menu items in the second row; I don’t see any dropdowns from the top row, but I’m not sure if that’s intentional or not.
Good job on your patch. Is it fairly straightforward to install the patch?

In reply to: [Twenty Twelve] [Theme: Twenty Twelve] nav bar fails in IE8Should we force people to take actions on their own that will make our sites look nicer; or should we build sites for the lowest common denominator?
Large numbers of people have no idea how to upgrade their browser, or they don’t even know what a browser is. They turn on their computers and just want to look at a website. We have to keep this group in mind when we create sites.

In reply to: twentytwelve nav in ie8almcr – Twenty Twelve is a really nice theme, but I found the same problem with the menu in IE8. Looks great in Chrome, though. Time to start searching for a fix or workaround, right?
FYI, the menu system also fails on my Samsung Galaxy S2 running Chrome.

Yes, thank you, I spent quite a bit of time looking at that page before I posted my question here. I like Sample3, but I can’t find supporting files anywhere. Is there a PHP file, or a CSS that makes it work? The link to the Mini Paper Clip demo is a dead link.
Have you tried it in this format?
