Thanks, Nico. I’ll take a look at implementing this.

Yes! Re-saving the events fixes the issue.

Thanks, Barry! I will mark this as closed.

I’ve upgraded to the latest available version (3.4.1) and this behavior persists.

When the “End of day cutoff” setting is set to anything other than 12:00 AM, all-day events still show as occurring one day early. For example, an all-day event set to Feb. 2-4 will appear on the calendar as occurring on Feb. 1, 2, 3, and 4.

A workaround is to set the cutoff to midnight, but then events that are *not* all-day events show on the scheduled day *and* the following day, making the cutoff setting useless.

    Any news on a fix?

    Thanks!

    Hi Barry,

Thanks for the reply. Unfortunately, the problem persists in the latest version. However, I have isolated the problem.

Again, when I have an all-day event, it appears on the dates on which it’s scheduled, AND it appears on the day before it’s scheduled, when in monthly calendar view.

I found out that the “End of day cutoff” setting is the culprit. When I have it set to 3:00 AM, all-day events also appear on the day BEFORE they are scheduled. When I change the setting to say 12:00 AM, the events only show on the scheduled dates.

I think this is a bug, unless the description for that setting is inaccurate. The setting appears to apply to all-day events, when it shouldn’t. If something is an all-day event, a setting that controls what day a partial-day event appears on should have no effect.

    Hi yunnn,

Your fix didn’t seem to have any effect on the monthly calendar display. Thanks for looking into it, though.

yunnn, this is great, thank you.

I’m running into another problem that you may have some insight on. Before your fix, if I had an *all-day* event that ran Nov. 8-10, it would show up on my monthly calendar on Nov. 7, Nov. 8, and Nov. 9. Now, with your change, it shows up on Nov. 10, too. However, it’s still showing up on Nov. 7 even though it’s clearly set to Nov. 8-10.

I assume all-day events aren’t affected by the setting that controls which events in the early morning are included in the day before. An all-day event on Nov. 8 surely shouldn’t include any part of Nov. 7, right?

Might you have any idea what’s going on?

    Thanks.

    Justin

P.S. An example is at thisgreatwhitenorth.com/events. Check out Nov. 7-10.

    Problem resolved. You were right!

I just moved everything over to my root domain and now the site administration features are working as they used to. Thanks again for the help!

Hi again. I have not yet moved the installation to the root domain, but I do have a piece of evidence that seems to confirm your solution to the problem. My installation is at blog.anothersunnyday.com, but my blog address is set to anothersunnyday.com. When I am logged in and go to anothersunnyday.com, the Site Admin link is not present. But when I am logged in and go to blog.anothersunnyday.com, the Site Admin link shows up and all is as it should be.

It seems your solution was correct: it seems to be some problem with the blog address being different than the WordPress installation location. Once they’re both the same, all problems seem to be fixed.

Odd, though. This wasn’t happening before I upgraded to v2.2.

Hey raescreations, thanks for the help!

I’ve got the opposite situation; my blog address is a domain (anothersunnyday.com), whereas the directory that WordPress is in is at blog.anothersunnyday.com.

I’m going to consolidate everything into the domain and rid myself of the subdomain, hopefully this weekend if I have some time. I’ll let you know if that fixes it. Thanks so much for the help!
