Same problem on my end, on two different sites.
The latest problem is with this video:
My experience has been that sometimes this works, sometimes it doesn’t.
The video above was live at the time I tried to embed it, and nothing happens. At all. My experience has been that some combination of deleting and recreating the embed or even the page itself, will eventually fix it. When it does fix it, it will show a low-quality thumbnail instead of the actual thumbnail. Due to that, I wouldn’t be surprised if there’s a CDN issue of some sort, so maybe WordPress is checking the wrong sources.
Also, if I try to embed a video before it’s public, it will never work, to the point where I’ll have to delete the entire page and recreate it after the video goes live in order to have the video embed. This is inexcusable, because as a content provider, I should be able to utilize the WordPress schedule feature and have every site show the content at the same time. If there’s a check in WordPress to see whether or not the video is public before embedding it, then that check should be deleted because it serves no purpose other than to frustrate people.
The WordPress YouTube embed is alpha-quality at best.
Can I do the reverse of date on some pages? I don’t see any documentation on your site at all for what kinds of sorting is available.
Yes, you’re probably referring to the following:
[yourchannel user=”myusername” sortby=”latest”]
Unfortunately, even after the changes the problem is still happening. As I type this, the page just says “loading…” and will never load anything. It’s 10:33pm my time right now, and it’ll probably start working again after midnight. But I would much rather it work all the time.
What I have for HTTP referrer is:
learnlinux.tv*
https://www.learnlinux.tvI’ll try unchecking the checkbox.
Forum: Plugins
In reply to: [YourChannel: Everything you want in a YouTube plugin.] No Videos on any pageI gave up and restored my server from a snapshot taken before the problem started. I then proceeded to install updates in WordPress and it is still working. There’s definitely a bug somewhere, but I’m not sure why installing updates the first time triggered this issue but it didn’t the next time.
Yes, this is showing videos from a playlist. The playlist settings on YouTube is configured to show the videos oldest to newest. However, YourChannel is showing them newest to oldest.
Is it supposed to be respecting the YouTube playlist settings?
Yes, it did work properly (even on a playlist) when I changed the default sort settings. But the shortcode had no effect.

Thank you so much!
It’s fixed now. I don’t know how to enable jQuery, I’m not a developer. But I noticed that when I enable the “Ad Blocker Notify Lite” plugin, it fixes it. Perhaps that plugin triggers jQuery to enable? I’ve removed my Google Adsense ads since that doesn’t result in barely any revenue, so I disabled the “Ad Blocker Notify Lite” plugin since I don’t need it now that I don’t have those ads.
For now, I’ve re-enabled the plugin even though I don’t need it, but if there’s some documentation on how to enable jQuery, let me know.
Should I file a bug? The Ad Blocker Notify Lite plugin seems to trigger jQuery to be enabled. Shouldn’t YourChannel also trigger jQuery to be enabled since it seems to need it? I would think the YourChannel plugin should be enabling whatever it needs.
Thanks!
