    Bump.

Any update on if this issue will ever be addressed, or at least communicated that the problem is acknowledged and in the queue to be fixed? If this were some minor bug or nice-to-have feature I would not even worry. But this is a fundamental significant issue with one of sportspress plugin’s biggest features–CAREER STATS. And the season over season career statistics do not calculate correctly, nor is there any way to manually set them up so they DO calculate correctly.

I can provide screenshots and links of both my league as well as a baseball league site someone ELSE posted about a year ago, and despite being marked as resolved it was never resolved. Your career stats are SUMMING fields like batting average, On Base Percentage, and Slugging %, which doesnt make any sense. My league has the exact same issue where i cant average stats like Shooting%, SAve %, and Goals Against Average.

Here is the link tied to the baseball league that was marked as resolved 6 months ago but clearly isnt resolved. Look at the career totals for those 3 average fields

Please at least address this issue and let us know that it is a known issue and will be addressed in the future—Career stats are more or less useless UNLESS they happen to be simple stats that are only SUMMED.

Thanks—sorry for the long post but I have gotten zero help or even acknowledgment on this issue in several months and dont know what else to do.

COMPLETELY DISREGARD THIS ISSUE. Stupid cache needed to be cleared and refreshed 100 times before the change applied. Getting real tired of Chrome acting up .. lol

Sorry for confusion..Carry on and close this ticket.

Disregard this… didnt realize you need to select 2 primary positions in the player profile in order to have these stats show up (1 OFFENSE and 1 DEFENSE)

    Close this ticket.

Understood… you can reject this ticket. It wasnt a sportspress issue anyway… it was a wpforo issue. If you use the wpforo plugin for your forum needs, it automatically disables the toolbar for everyone except admins. What we thought was a SP issue was actually nothing more than an inability for folks to SEE their own toolbar which would have “EDIT EVENT” as an option.

    False alarm.

    Thanks

ok, you can close this ticket…sportspress configuration does NOT like it when you have 2 different player performance metrics tagged as the same name (Shots=S, Saves=S)… ??

this caused all kinds of issues because the “key” it created for the 2nd metric (s-2) was being treated by the equation calculator as “s minus 2″…. it was literally trying to subtract 2 from the original “s” name as part of the calculation instead of recognizing that this “s-2” is nothing more than a key/nickname/identifier….

all is well in shots/saves-ville now though…sorry for the bother

I have no idea why this occurred, but I was able to fix it by getting rid of the SEASON 0 we had everything tied to (as a test preseason). Again, not sure why adding a new Season and tying everything to that fixed it, but it appears to have done the trick. You can ignore this post unless someone wants to provide some feedback on what this error even means and why it happens.

I was going to create a new post but John Ney’s question above covers it.

After your players are already loaded into your league, is there ANY way possible to bulk assign existing players to new teams each season? Currently the only way I know to do this is 100% manually via editing every single player profile.

I can think of 3 different ways this could be done, perhaps in a future upgrade:

    1. Tweak the CSV bulk upload functionality so that you have an option to “merge” a loaded player with the existing player based on exact username match (so that all career stats are kept in tact, etc)… as opposed to the way it currently functions which automatically creates a duplicate new player.

    2. The current functionality within wordpress for mass assignment of forum roles or site roles, apply that SAME functionality to the players page…IE, the ability to checkbox 6 players and bulk assign them all to a particular team, season, league, etc… this would save sooooooooooooooo much time ??

    3. Add some sort of live draft capability to the plugin (perhaps this could be a Pro only feature given the work involved).

These are just ideas— but having the ability to bulk assign players to teams would be glorious.

Thank you all for the feedback. From what I gather here, there is no one perfect solution and you have to consider a couple different semi-solutions to get these 2 tables to display correctly.

At risk of beating a dead horse, below is an image of what I am dealing with. The top table is my custom player list that I use for league leaders–it allows me to mix and match both PERFORMANCE and STATISTICS fields as I please, and shows them in my overall order. Perfect.

The bottom 2 tables are the default player statistics tables… i cant move those 3 calculated fields to the left unless, as sagund mentioned, moving ALL of my performance fields to statistics… which will be a huge pain (theres several more hidden performance fields we track that i dont show here)

anyway, here is link to comparison… as always, feedback is welcome

Thanks Brian! That’s great– so it is fully compatible with rookie… what about current version of WP? (4.6.1)… might be another dumb question but in the details it says it is only compatible through version 4.5.4…. and has not been tested with current version. Should i be concerned or is that not a big deal? (i installed bbPress and it appears to be working fine, despite not being “compatible”)

    Thanks for the help

Thanks Roch. The workaround I have found to be the most convenient is to only assign one “Position” to each player, and encourage captains to make that position the one that their players will play “most of time” (so in most cases the box score will be auto-ready after selecting the 5 starters)… and then we added a new custom player detail field called “Eligible Position(s)” which basically lists all of the positions a player is allowed to play on any given night. (you are restricted to playing only positions that you sign up for each season…and it has to be tracked)

You can close this ticket…I was just seeking feedback.

    Thanks

Thanks for the quick responses. For now we will just manually link new users with their new “player” via the edit player screen. That does bring up a follow-up related question though… are regular users able to edit their “player profiles”? (not their wordpress user profiles, but the linked player profiles with all the fields we have like Nationality, Name, Age, Favorite TEam, other custom fields we added, etc)

Right now the only way i see to do that is via the admin EDIT PLAYER screen…. I want all regular non-admin players to be able to add photos, edit these player details, etc by themselves.

    Thanks

now that i think about this more, once a user/player is added to the page/league… that link between WP username and “player username” should be basically permanent… (whereas NEW users/players would have to be manually linked, which is not a big deal)…. i guess my only remaining question would be, each new season where u load “NEW TEAMS” that utilize EXISTING players from the prior season, can that be bulk loaded? or would it need to be done manually? (IE, im operating under the assumptiont hat if i load an EXISTING playername assigned to a NEW team, it will automatically create an NEW, unlinked player…which defeats the purpose)

    Im still learning here lol
