  • I am also having the same problems with spam coming through my contact form. Wasn’t there supposed to be a version 2.0 of the contact form? Maybe that will address this issue.

    Hi Lorelle,

Yes I know that, by default, WP shows my recent posts but the problem is I’d like the “Recent” page item to be selected so people know which page they are viewing in my list of pages. Basically since I don’t know any other way to select the menu item other than to create a Page to do it. That is the reason I’m trying it this way, though I haven’t been able to yet. You can see what I mean by going here. The site is under a live redesign so much of it doesn’t work properly or at all.

Btw, I don’t make use of a sidebar in my design. I prefer moving items from the sidebar to their own Pages.

Wierd, after loging into the admin I went back to the home page. Suddenly it was working. I didn’t change anything in the admin but it’s working anyway. Disregard my last post. Thanks.

I’m having the same problem as Cyberhomie and Bwahahax. I followed the instructions from the codex for upgrading, the one that Matt refers to in his 1.5.1 release post. Same problem. Just a blank page. Anyone know how to fix this?

I second Philpeeps request. I prefer to view emails as threads, which of course is based on the subject of the email. Any chance of that?

    adb,
Does your newly-created page include The Loop? If not, then that is why you are getting the 404. I can attest to this myself, as I learned that the hard way recently.

I’m having the same problem. What is “The Loop” you are referring to?

Here is the response I got from Brent Simmons of Ranchero regarding my question above:

I don’t know that it’s actually possible. The existing weblog APIs don’t have methods for dealing with pages, just weblog posts, unless there’s something tricky the WP folks have done to make this possible. (They’d know better than I would.)

Of course — it would be darn cool to be able to edit pages in MarsEdit, and I hope that this will be possible in the future.

Looks like someone from WP needs to answer this question. Ideas as to who would have an answer for me? I guess what I need to know now is whether or not WP 1.5 has built in the ability via the API to edit Pages.

I’ll check those out but if any WP user knows the answer please post it here. Thanks.

For those having the 404 Error: I’m new to WP and I was having the same problem until I realized that I had the .htaccess file in the wrong place. I moved it from the root of my entire site to the root of my blog (which was in a subfolder). Then made sure that the script that WP generates was copied into the file. Check to make sure the permissions were correct. Then I checked my site and it worked perfect.

    I hope that helps somebody.
