In reply to: [Custom Meta Widget] PHP 7 compatibility shows an errorAlso, when you activate it, it says:
The plugin generated 2 characters of unexpected output during activation. If you notice “headers already sent” messages, problems with syndication feeds or other issues, try deactivating or removing this plugin.
Despite all of this, I have activated it in a 7.0 install and added the widget, and it worked. So it’s just buggy but usable? Just enough to disable out of concern.

In reply to: [Zedna Custom Dashboard Messages] PHP 7 compatibility shows an errorIt looks like the test is already there and all the green flags are present. Very awesome!

In reply to: [WP Coupons and Deals - WordPress Coupon Plugin] DeprecationsAmazing.
I would say that it would be the front end as we used P3 Profiler plugin to measure everything.
Back end has always been a bit slow. We have been trying to narrow that down, but that part seems to be more on the host than anything else. Jetpack was the only other plugin really causing load on the front-end.

In reply to: [Ultimate Nofollow] Compatibility with WP5?It works fine for me in all of the installations I help manage, and they are the latest public release of WP.
Also seems to pass for PHP7 as well: https://plugintests.com/plugins/nofollow/latest

In reply to: Auto delete unconfirmed users after so many daysI tried Bulk Delete the other day. It didn’t seem to allow the option to narrow things down to unregistered users. It might be a little easier switching to Pro, but I am not going to buy into something blindly without some experience of using it and knowing it is exactly what I need.
It would be nice if the one I mentioned would get fixed.

In reply to: [PHP Compatibility Checker] Gave 500 internal server errorSame. The plugin sadly is not usable. Doesn’t even support 7.3. Looks like everyone is going to have to cross their fingers and hope for the best by setting the value and hoping the site doesn’t come crashing down.

In reply to: Hyper slow loading after update to 5.0Ya. It slowed here too these last 5-7 days. Insight scores on some sites went from 92 to 40. No updates to the theme or plugins until after, and that didn’t resolve anything. Seems that all of the sites I have access to managing are slower. P3 Plugin Profiler doesn’t seem to be reporting anything as different. Still shows Jetpack as a hog since it has so much bloat. Each site has different plugins beyond Jetpack.
PHP versions are all over from 5.6.3 to 7.1
The lot of us have been running in circles dropping plugins and reconfiguring cache settings and trying everything we can to make improvements. One of the sites, the owner just took it down. Said he is going back to the basics of HTML lol (oh well).
Something somewhere happened. Also it doesn’t help that most of these sites are hosted on crap hosts like Bluehost or Hostgator, so they aren’t as quick as they could be to begin with.

In reply to: Inserting a link contains text of a previous linkClassic editor. When you insert a link from the link button, and move on with your test and somewhere add another link, insert a link or highlight text and hit the link button, and the link pop up pops up. You hit the gear icon and get to the full pop up. Sometimes it will show link text under the URL field, and sometimes when it does, it will have the information from the previous link.

In reply to: [Ad Blocking Advisor] ABD is blocking the pluginI can second this haha. Just about every ad blocker I have tested against this is blocking this. No go for this plugin sadly. Too bad. It’s non-invasive approach seemed like a great idea.
Well, I tried getting it submitted for approval, which wasn’t part of the plugin’s walkthrough page. I translated the dev section into English and found my way to putting in the request. In the end, they denied it.
Of course, I felt off about submitting it as it look like the submission process for getting it approved was for submitting it as a public app…which obviously it shouldn’t be a public app but a private app. So I think the walkthrough simply needs a touch up to better explain the process.
Weibo seems to be a hard pain the butt to work with since IFTTT’s applets fail to post anything to Weibo as well (although you can get any error codes from their setup to see what their reasons are). I am wondering if Weibo is a lost hope at this point.

In reply to: Display Youtube videos within your search/tag results:Update:
I was just told by one of the bigger theme makers that this would be a plugin vs theme. “It will be a good idea but it will need a custom plugin to do that.”
So this is def not for Fixing WordPress section. This is for plugins and development, if a mod can move it please ??

In reply to: Display Youtube videos within your search/tag resultsHello Jan. I don’t quite fully agree with you on the move. I understand if it doesn’t fit 100% with the section it was in, but it isn’t a question of “fixing” a problem in WordPress. This is more of a “how can someone do something, let it be coding it themselves, or an available plugin, or something a plugin author might consider”. Which is why I carefully chose “Developing with WordPress” as it felt like it fit in well within that section. Now I am sure this will be lost–buried under all of the problem posts.
It was worth a try ?? I guess I’ll move on to other ideas.
