@freshyjon Yes, I edited my categories after setting up the form field and the field reflected those category changes when I tested it again. I didn’t have to rebuild the field/form after setting it up initially.

I am looking for a way to set the product type as well, such as External/Affiliate, when a new product is submitted via the form. I would also like to be able to set some additional fields within the Product Data section, specifically the Product URL and SKU.

I was able to use the categories for my custom post type by going to the Advanced tab in the form field, putting a check in the box for ‘Populate with a taxonomy’, and selecting my custom taxonomy name from the dropdown there.

I had this same issue and the correction from @ingraye solved it.

Using a multiselect field for selecting custom post categories, specifically woocommerce products in my case, was not populating the categories. Editing line 487 as indicated above worked immediately. Hope this gets added to the next update.

Thanks, MichaelH. Just got back from a conference, so I’ll follow up with this by searching Trac and submitting if it seems appropriate.

I have viewed this issue in my own theme and the default and classic themes to confirm it is not just an issue within my theme.

Is there a different location that this type of issue should be reported so that those who maintain the WP core can address it in an update? This is something that is affecting anyone that uses hierarchy display in their categories widget.

I’d like to help get the information to the right people so that it can be taken care of appropriately.

Use this plugin. I found it last night and it works very well with WP 2.7.
