    Hello Sahil,

Do you use a page other than wp-login.php for login like a custom login page or login page Plugin? Looking at the code that would affect wp-login.php, it should not be active on wp-login with the “Protect Login Authentication” option turned off. I also just tested it with the setting on and off and it worked as expected for wp-login.php though I did run into an issue if the setting “Block on All Pages” was active while Restrict on Login/Authentication was off, I will be releasing a patch for that soon as those two settings cannot be used together.

However, disabling Proxy & VPN Blocker for login/authentication does defeat much of the purpose of the plugin.

The Restrict Country/Continent option within the Plugin is something that predates the Custom Rules feature on your proxycheck.io dashboard, and I would suggest that you use that instead in this case. You can use it to block visitors from countries in much the same way, but you’d be able to whitelist the team members either by their IP Addresses or a specific geofence around the town/district they are in (though that would allow anyone from that area to also use the site). Understandably that isn’t too convenient but what you are trying to do (block all visitors but a few in some countries) is not easy to do.

    Hi namrur,

There’s a number of reasons this can happen, Here’s a few possibilities:

    1) If you are still logged in as Admin you wont be blocked.

    2) It’s possible (but not very likely) that the IP that the VPN was using at the time is not currently detected by proxycheck.io.

    3) You are using Risk Score checking and the IP of the VPN was currently below the threshold to be blocked.

    4) You are using a caching Plugin, unfortunately PVB can’t normally block on pages served by a caching plugin because these Plugins cache your pages and serve them as static HTML before Plugins like PVB can even run. Only Caching Plugins that support some form of Late-init as an option work, but this potentially defeats the purpose of having a caching plugin.

    Hi rgaynor72,

Are you clicking the links for the IP’s in the user list or checking IP’s manually on proxycheck.io/threats? IP’s checked on proxycheck.io/threats are considered a query by proxycheck.io

    Thanks,
    Rick

Proxy & VPN Blocker works fine with Cloudflare if you toggle on “Site uses Cloudflare” on the Plugin’s main settings page. Ypu may also wish to toggle on “also detect VPN’s”.

    Hi Steven,

Do you intend to block on the entire site? In that case you need to toggle on “block on all pages”, however, if you are using a caching plugin there are some caveats that will prevent it from functioning correctly. You can read about this on the FAQ Page on the Proxy & VPN Blocker website.

    Hello Seath,

Thank you for bringing this to my attention, this wasn’t so much a bug with Proxy & VPN Blocker Plugin, but there was an issue with the API endpoint at proxycheck.io which the plugin was checking to determine if the Dashboard API was enabled for your API Key, that has now been fixed by proxycheck.io. I hope that this means that your PHP Warnings will now go away on your site. Note however, that the Dashboard API must be enabled in your proxycheck account for the Statistics page to work in Proxy & VPN Blocker Settings in WordPress Admin.

However, bringing this to my attention has located a couple of other problems in the Plugin’s Statistics page itself that will be resolved in the next update that will be released some time this month.

    Thank you,
    Rick.

    Hi John,

has it been working fine before this?

I think this message would be caused by the web host you have if they are using a caching system and it is possibly causing Proxy & VPN Blocker to see and then send internal IP Addresses in the request to the proxycheck.io API.

Right now, I’m not sure on what else it could be, nothing relating to IP Address handling has been changed in Proxy & VPN Blocker for a very long time.

I realize that the list was saving but not showing up on the page after (though the lists of pages/posts were saving in the database). I am going to release an update for this shortly.

Hi Vivek, apologies for this issue, I’m currently away and won’t be able to look at this for a couple more days, as I have no computer access right now!

    Hi John,

    Thank you,

In the Proxy & VPN Blocker Plugin settings in WordPress you are able to enable Risk Score Checking under the Risk Score tab, you can adjust the scores individually for Proxies and VPN’s, the defaults of 33 for Proxies and 66 for VPN’s should be fine, however you can adjust this as you desire.

The rule library is a proxycheck.io API feature, with the tools provided by the Proxy & VPN Blocker Plugin it shouldn’t be necessary to add Custom Rules on proxycheck.io.

If you use block on all pages (option in settings) it would block on the entire site, yes. But other than that the plugin looks for an exact URL match for the pages/posts you put in the lists.

In theory that sounds like it should be fine, but the only way to know for sure is to test connecting to /wp-admin or any of your PVB blocked pages with a VPN or proxy while the plugin is active.

    Hello,

This isn’t currently an option within the plugin, but is perhaps something I can add soon.

Hello, thank you for the purchase!

The process for appending query plans purchased via a donation this way are appended to your account manually, but I had trouble locating your account from the email provided.

I believe this has been solved with proxycheck.io support now?

    Thank you,

proxycheck.io and this Plugin are not the same entity, there is currently no premium version of the Proxy & VPN Blocker Plugin.

Your feature request is being considered for a future update, but I have no ETA on when this will be coming.
