In reply to: [MH Magazine lite] How to create a child themethough… I am noticing now it’s simply “working” – however it is not importing any of the styles or functions over from the parent theme… I’m just getting a basic un-styled page for some reason.

In reply to: [MH Magazine lite] How to create a child themeAloha MH Themes! I’m following the instructions you linked at the beginning of this thread to create my child theme, but it seems to be having an issue loading. Here’s the CSS I added to my stylesheet. When I open the themes page of the admin panel it’s listed under broken themes and tells me I need to install MH-Magazine-Lite in order to get it working, however I already have your theme installed and running. Let me know if you see where I went wrong!

In reply to: Extra header styling changing navOkay I got them to show side-by-side and the menu to go inline by adjusting the placement of the extra header in the header.php file. However, now the menu bar and body have blown out to full width rather than staying at 980px and there appears to be some kind of border around the logo/banner container. Any suggestions on how to limit the properties of the nav bar and the body of the site to 980px again?

In reply to: Fixing gap below extra header image and fixing sizeFor the record – removing the padding of 3em from the #header in the stylesheet fixed the gap… had to figure it out myself but I got it

In reply to: Fixing gap below extra header image and fixing sizeAs for the security issues that pop up on Sucuri, I have the site in maintenance mode at the moment. I’ve simply opened up the home page to be viewable for the purposes of this troubleshooting

In reply to: Fixing gap below extra header image and fixing sizeWow. I can see where three parts of my code that I added were basically uselesss, but I’m shocked to see how many CSS errors came already built into this theme! Not sure how I should approach this now. Most things on the site seem to be working, so I can’t help but have the fear that by fixing those things I might break ten more…
Anyone have any thoughts on closing the gap? I fixed my code and gave the header a padding of 0.5em on top and 0em on bottom and it’s still got a large gap. I’d like the upper header logo to basically butt up against the menu with only the smallest gap.

In reply to: Fixing gap below extra header image and fixing sizeThanks! Like I said total beginner here. Still pretty unsure of the terminology. Really I’m a graphic designer, I just have some basic experience with WP. Much appreciated
