In reply to: Who can create categories???
Only admin’s have the ability to create categories in WordPress. Categories are used to structure posts and pages.
You’re correct this site is a forum, run with BBPress which is able to be integrated into WP.
Anyone can create a topic in the forum (much like you just did), but once again only admins can create forum categories (large groupings of topics).
I have no idea whether you should have a forum or a blog. To me it generally depends on the ammount of traffic a site has. Sites with less than 500 uniques a day generally make pretty poor forums, but pretty good blogs. Sites with large ammounts of traffic generally can support a forum… in addition to any other frontend they’re running (whatever it was that was being done to generate the traffic in the first place).

In reply to: Adsense problems……adsense only allows 3 ad units per page
contextual ads take a little time to start working correctly… the more often google crawls your site the faster they’ll become relevant.
If you’re adding new conent daily google will start crawling your page more often and as such the ads will start to make more sense.
you should also target what adsense sees

In reply to: 2 blogs 1 set of categoriesSo basically you just want one blog with different css applied to different categories?
if so, looks like this was made for 1.2 or earlier… might still work

(looks like they’re working on the extend/plugins section of the site… I’m pretty sure there’s a more recent plugin that does about the same thing.

In reply to: Down from Page Rank 3 to 0link to site?
(This isn’t a wp thing)
Couple of things which I can think of which might have caused it.
You have two index files in your root directory (like an index.html and index.php)
You gathered an obscene amount of backlinks in a relativly quick and unnatural method. (blanket directory submissions)
You bought the domain off of someone and the transfer downgrade is just being implemented.
Black Hat SEO i.e. cloaking, hidden text, keyword stuffing… etc.

In reply to: Login for websitecheck the user levels plugin…
it doesn’t display the info in their profiles, but allow you to display info in posts.
so you could set it up so that the public at large has an access level of 0 while the members you want to specify out you could give a level of 1, then any post which you want the specified members to see you would set a post level setting of 1… then the public at large wouldn’t see said post.

In reply to: Need “Admin” link for footerwhen you’re logged in doesn’t the admin link replace the login link?
Forum: Fixing WordPress
In reply to: SITE ADMIN LINK PROBLEMI’m willing to bet that the site admin link is visible because you’re logged in. were you to log out I think you’d see that the link has been replace by a login link.
then were you to login with using some other ID I think you’d see that the admin link reappears but after clicking on it you’ll see that the different login has diminished roles.

In reply to: Everything points to my web sitemoving the index.php file into another folder wont’ fix your problem as your current wp install is based upon that file being located where it’s currently located… installing wp in a subdirectory will solve your problems.
