In reply to: "Warning" message ruining my life!Good news – I was working through the FTP process and called GoDaddy for assistance, as they are my host. The rep walked me through deleting the paperpunch theme folder within my GoDaddy account. After activating a new theme, the warning message was gone. This has also solved my “add media” photo issues.
Looks like the theme was the culprit in the end. I’ll just choose a new one. Thanks for the help!

In reply to: "Warning" message ruining my life!Hmm interesting. Yes that could be a good part of the issue – I took that theme from the directory this past summer.
I will attempt the FTP process this weekend. In the meantime, I just discovered that even when others view my blog (www.kitchen-chronicles.com) they get the error message…although it seems to be working half the time.
Is there any way to go back to the older version of WordPress?
Thanks!

In reply to: "Warning" message ruining my life!Thank you. I did read the article, but I have never used FTP and don’t have any knowledge about it. I will make an attempt to figure it out, but I have to say it is frustrating to do all this time-consuming learning and troubleshooting just because of problems caused by the upgrade. (As mentioned, the “add media” button isn’t working either, although I will start a new thread for that.)
I know as a moderator this is not your fault, but I am expressing feedback to WordPress in general.

In reply to: "Warning" message ruining my life!I appreciate the links, and I will give them a try. But how can I do this when I can’t even log in or view my dashboard?
When I log in, the page is completely blank except for the error message.

In reply to: Editing site title font in paperpunchThank you! I installed the plugin but I think the problem may be that I haven’t purchased the pro version? Oh well…

In reply to: Problem importing images from wordpress.com to www.remarpro.comThank you for the response and the link. However, the process described for importing from a WordPress export file into a WordPress blog is the same one I’ve followed exactly over and over. I just tried again this morning with the same result – my images did not carry over, and I got the same error message as before.
What could possibly be the cause of this? It’s so odd. If you look at this post: https://kitchen-chronicles.com/2012/05/15/cookie-dough-oatmeal/
The first photo I uploaded manually from my desktop. The rest of the photos are still drawing from the old source, my old blog lemonsouffle.wordpress.com and are enormous.
I really want a successful import so that I know that all my files have come over correctly….any thoughts? Thank you!
