okay, i think i may have fixed it. my anchor was a site specific URL (“/podcasts/filename.mp3”) instead of an absolute URL (“https://www.sitename.org/podcasts/filename.mp3”).

it now loads in itunes! and there was much rejoicing.

i hate to ask this, because it may be glaringly obvious, but how does ipodcatter know where to look for the audio file? i’m currently trying to link to it within the post using an anchor tag. is this incorrect? the <guid> is just the URL for the post itself.

oh, and btw- i’m using an apache server, so it’s not an IIS problem with the path to the include.
