In reply to: Updated PHP to 8.0, Can’t update WPThanks! I was afraid I’d have to manually upload the new version rather than simply click “Upgrade”. Looks like that’s what I’ll have to do.
Thanks for the quick response.

In reply to: Can’t install into root directoryOK, looked around and found out that I can go to 1and1.com and go to “Domains” and point www to the subdirectory just now created.
RESOLVED.

In reply to: Can’t install into root directoryHmmm…odd that I can’t edit that.
Anyway…my uploaded WordPress files DO appear in a subdirectory to the root. I’m guessing that is as it should be?
HOWEVER, how do I point www to that subdirectory now?

In reply to: Updated and now can't log inYeah, okay.
2 months gone by. Not getting it done.
Is there someone around here who can fix this for money? I’m tired of messing with it, miss having my blog, and want to pay to get this fixed.

In reply to: Updated and now can't log inHow do I reinstall if I can’t get logged in?
Forum: Fixing WordPress
In reply to: Updated and now can't log inI typed that in the address bar and put in my username and password and it still just cleared the boxes. It won’t leave the log-in page.
I’ll try and do the debug stuff tomorrow with my FTP…

In reply to: Updated and now can't log inThank you, Dan. I did what the link said–including changing my password and making sure MD5 was in the box, clicking “Go” at the bottom.
Went back to the blog, and still couldn’t log in. Tried to have the blog send me an email to “Change password”, it did so, I changed it (to the same one) and when I try and log in…the boxes just clear and I’m stuck at the log-in screen.
Any further suggestions?

Even the guy at 1and1.com didn’t know how to export JUST those tables. Do you know how?

In reply to: How do I export just the WordPress files from MySQL?I have done so, and cannot get the new database to “take” on importing the old database. I’ve been trying this for almost 24 hours now–with many phone calls to 1and1.com.
Any thoughts?

In reply to: How do I export just the WordPress files from MySQL?Well, I would think so, too.
I’ll check with 1and1.com
Thanks.

In reply to: Updated 2.5 to 3.0.4, but 1&1.com host…Ah…looked in wp_posts and indeed the transfer of the old database did NOT successfully take place.
Getting late and my mind is fuzzy. I’ll try again tomorrow from scratch, I guess.

In reply to: Updated 2.5 to 3.0.4, but 1&1.com host…Hmmm…if that looks good, why is the database of my old posts (newly converted to a MySQL 5.0 database format) not showing the old posts in my blog.
My blog (at https://www.jerrypettit.com/blog) is just showing 1 post–that I have put there today to explain that I am having upgrade problems.
Where are the old posts, if it is looking like the MySQL conversion worked?!

wp_comments
wp_links
wp_options
wp_postmeta
wp_posts
wp_terms
wp_term_relationships
wp_term_taxonomy
wp_usermeta
wp_usersIs that good? ??
