Just wanted to update on my problem with not being able to ADD MEDIA after an upgrade to WP 4.0

After “re-setting” all the plugins and working through them found
Comprehensive Google Map Plugin 9.0.20 was creating the problem.

The developer of the above plugin has now created a patch which when inserted has sorted everything out.

All is back to normal – hope this can help someone

I have the same problem, it’s causing problems since the WP 4.0 upgrade

It does not allow inserting media into a page or post and stops my calendar from working properly.

I have discovered that I have the same problem.

I have updated to WP 4.0, PRIOR TO THIS NO PROBLEMS

Wanted to edit an existing page and insert some media, but the ADD MEDIA button does not work.

I have gone through all my plugins and deleted all that I deemed unnecessary ( although there were not new additions from WP 3.9.2 version and still no go.
I don’t run WPML media add on.

The “resetting plugins” worked, I have now pin pointed the one that is not compatible and hope the plugin provider will have an upgraded option.

I have already gone through the “deactivating plugins” , removing ones that the site really does not need – via control panel, clearing out the cache via control panel – that did not resolve this problem.

I’ll try to reset the plugins via FTP, if that does not work I’ll roll back to 3.9.2 and wait until an updated version of WP 4.0 is released.

There should not be so much problem when one upgrades to the latest WP version – it’s taking too much time.

Hi Tara – I just realised that you were referring to a particular plugin called “Ad Plugin” – sorry that is because I misspelt in my original message

the “warning” above ADD PLUGIN does NOT apply to any one plugin. That is the message that comes up on top of or above the whole ADD PLUGIN page.

When you go to left hand side heading PLUGINS, click on ADD NEW the page opens with the warning above it, without selecting any particular plugin and there are not Plugins visible to choose from.

Have just upgraded to WP 4 and now the plugin browzer does not show anything.

I have re-installed WP4 but still the same problem.
