I don’t know how to tell if the code did interact in some way with the database. I’m currently checking with my host. Should I be able to check my server logs through my hosting control panel?

Also, is it possible to bypass this whole issue by re-installing wordpress?

Thank you for your response. I recently downloaded a caching plugin. turns out my problem was related to the plugins settings. the issue is now fixed.

Found the solution to this problem. I hope this helps anyone else that runs into this problem.

That was my first idea. But I couldn’t find one that would integrate into that position on my home page. The ones i could find worked by inserting the slider into a post or page.

any thoughts on inserting a slider plugin into the place of an image?
