Thanks Pae that did it. Wow there was lots of info in there. I need to read more of the documentation, but, didn’t know exactly which ones to start with and had to get that fixed before it drove me nuts.

Where would I get that info on my site? I have the same problem. If it is not static I think I understand what the issue is. My question (besides where to check this) is can it be flipped to be static with just a setting or should I look for a different theme if I need to edit the Home page and it is more of a website than a blogger.

fyi: theme the site is using: Twenty Ten 1.2 by the WordPress team

Hi,
I am on the 1.2 version of the same theme and I ran into that last week. I figured out that if I go into the pages from the dashboard, and hover each page it offers QuickEdit as one of the choices for a page. Select that and uncheck the Allow Comments checkbox. I think that may get the result you were looking for.
