Thanks @chouby for the insights and you’re right!
For the record and digging a bit deeper this is what has happened
The problem was detected this morning at 03, 2 plugins were updated:
wordpress-seo, popup-builder one of them seems to be the culprit
polylang Was updated several days ago, my excuses!Forum: Themes and Templates
In reply to: [Twenty Seventeen] Add overlay text to featured imageThanks @djlest ??
Will keep you posted if I find a reasonable solution. It might just be a text in the image. Andrew has point, not sure how to manage the strings in the backend. The only solution I have come up with so far is to hard code the strings in php, not very elegant…

In reply to: [Twenty Seventeen] Bottom aligned menu dropdown outside viewportThank you Andrew, that code does the job indeed!
The menu is bottom aligned on the first page only, on all other pages, the menu is top aligned, is it possible to make it conditional?Found the problem: it was an ‘orphan’ </div> in one of the pages that caused the problem. Thanks for your help!
No the opposite.
I want the english page to look like the french and german. When I add a widget to the english page footer, the widget is hidden by that white header image.
When I add a widget to the french and german page footer, it is visible as expected. If you look at the first screenshots in my original post you can see that the divs are laid out differently on english and french.
I see the issue on 2 different laptops using in Chrome, Chrome incognito, Firefox.
It is also visible on Android Chrome browser, OnePlus.
Additionally it is visible when I visit the realknx.com site though kproxy.com.

Dont you see the bottom part of the black and white header image?Definitely:
The english: https://snag.gy/51bXdY.jpg
The french: https://snag.gy/ojEumX.jpgThanks, I feel much better now ??
The bottom part of the the page where I can put widgets like text, social links etc.
If you follow the steps in my original post you should see the difference, the ‘footer’ is white on the french page, but not on the english.
Yes I did!

Something really bad happened just after I wrote the support question!
I have no clue why all formatting has disappeared. I have cleared additional CSS, disabled all caching features. Any ideas, I don’t see any errors in the console. Anyh help is appreciated!
