Thanks Hannah, maybe I wasn’t clear enough, I don’t want to change the post content background. Only the background on the pages with normal page content, like pages built up with widgets in PageBuilder. Can I do that with a similar code?

I’ve changed the Main content background instead to create the same effect I wanted the line to have – frame the header and menu.

But now I want my page content to have a different color then my posts. They are combined in the option under Advanced Styling > Post and Page Content area background. Can I specify the Page Content area background color by adding some css?

2. Okey, thanks. I removed it and made a new one just the same, for some reason it worked.

It would be great if I could make it work in 10-15 min but I have very limited knowledge of this, so unfortunately, I don’t really understand what you mean. Virtual host, development server and hosts file entry are all new terms for me..

I’m using OS X 10.9.5

I haven’t used a development server, just MAMP for setting up the local server, and phpmyadmin + filezilla to manage the ftp.

Start over? Do you mean create the whole website from scratch again?
Is there no other way? Can’t I create a new wp admin and use the import function within settings to set up my site again?

1. Okey, it seems complicated to create a child theme so I guess I’ll just have to show the portfolio title to get my navigation bar. When I add it tho, it’s not visible. I have white as my background color and I assume that’s the default color for the navigation.
How can I change the color of the navigation?

It is already off there.
I don’t use the home page installed in the theme, instead I have one of my port olio pages as a home page. That’s why the settings under Home page don’t really affect my Portfolio Grid page.
