In reply to: Spamapalooza! Help!I do have the Askimet plugin installed. (As an aside: I do see a “flash” before my dashboard comes up that says “Super Cache is disabled” — it disappears so quickly I’m not sure if that might have anything to do with it? I don’t think it does because Super Cache is an entirely different plugin.)
I DO seem to be catching and filtering the spam out and into a spam folder on my dashboard BUT I am receiving emails for every piece of this spam just as if it wasn’t spam. Asking me to “approve it” just as if it was an approved comment.
So catching the spam doesn’t seem to be the problem, to be clear, it’s all the emails coming to my inbox about the spam.

In reply to: Email subscribers, feed, what's what? So…got that, and thank you.
And when I try and do something like Hello Bar, for example, and it asks me for a “Link URL” — so that someone can add their email address into a simple (but graphically better than Jetpack offers) form, what do I give?

IDEALLY I’d like to add https://optinskin.com/ but I think the same question will apply.

In reply to: Verifying siteThanks Lee.
I couldn’t find anything by hovering but I did end up going into Tools and seeing a place for a meta tag right there plain as day.

In reply to: Verifying siteEditing the header of my theme just gets me into a page where I can pick the color and add a custom header image. I don’t see any “behind the scenes” kind of stuff — just boxes to click.

In reply to: Verifying siteHmm… I guess I’m just pretty dumb about this sort of thing. I host my author blog through Modwest but I think my food blog is simply on WordPress? I don’t know what an FTP client is either.
Can you explain where to put the verification code to a real beginner?

In reply to: Verifying siteThanks – yes, I’ve figured out how to get the verification code from Google but I don’t know what a root directory is or where to find it in my dashboard.
