In reply to: [SongWriter] Move Comment Box Above CommentsThank you! I have decided to paginate because it’s a simpler option – I don’t want to have to update the code every time there is an update, and it says pagination has the added benefit of speeding load times on posts with a lot of comments. Thanks again for your help!

In reply to: Add Comment Box Above CommentsSorry WPyogi, I didn’t get notified by email so I just came back and found your reply. I’m using Songwriter theme and my page is https://thesavingsopportunity.com I’ve also checked the box so I can get notified when you respond ?? Thanks!
Hi Adam –
I just wanted to let you know that I got a response from someone other than you on that email. In the email I instructed it to go to you and then started out with your name like a letter (like I just did here). This person replied (Jeremy, no last name given) but truncated my original message so those things were left out. He then asked me to create an admin account on my site for him.
Just wanted to mention that my instructions to send the support request to you were disregarded – and then completely taken out of my message as if the request never existed, with no mention given to that request by Jeremy (and why he was replying instead). AND I wonder if this is legit? I don’t know about making someone who I don’t know an admin on my site. Is that how these things are handled? I’m new to blogging but red flags came up in my head, kind of like you know never to give out your debit card pin, lol ??
Thanks for your help again,
– Jennifer
I’ve just sent the email!
I’m sorry Adam. I disconnected then reconnected and I’m still getting the same errors in WordPress.com. I even logged out then logged back in hoping that would change, but the problem persists. Are you as frustrated about this as me? LOL! But thanks for your help so far, I’m a newbie and your instructions have been very clear as we troubleshoot together. I don’t want bad errors affecting my blog, so hopefully the developer you mentioned can shed some light on this.
Yes, I’m using the jenniferpeaslee username. I don’t think I have any other.
I have been using Firefox as it is my browser of choice. However, I just tried logging in with Internet Explorer and Chrome. The only change is that I’m not getting the little triangle warning. However, when I click on settings I still get the big red banner warning that says “There was an error retrieving your site settings.Make sure your Jetpack is up to date”
I’m sorry, I don’t have another computer to use to log in.
I don’t want to sound like a quitter (LOL!) but if there is nothing we can do about it right now should I just ignore it because everything is working okay? Or are these errors a bad thing that should be fixed – either because they’ll impact the site negatively or come back to haunt me later? I just hate to use up all your time like this when it appears nothing can be done.
Hi Adam. I’d never used Imgur, so I wanted to try it out. Pretty cool ??
So this first image is what I see when I click on My Sites – the little red triangle warning sign: https://i.imgur.com/jnAGnhn.png
This second image is the message I get when I click on the triangle: https://i.imgur.com/J85iIH1.png
This third image is what I see when I click on settings. You’ll notice the red error message, the red triangle again, and the fact that the settings (title, tagline, visibility, save settings button etc) are all deactivated so I can’t add or click anything to change things. https://i.imgur.com/GAx6c0m.png
Is this bad (particularly the last page, with not being able to set up the Settings)? How I originally detected this was that I couldn’t connect my blog to Izea – but I figured out how to do that manually so that is no longer a problem. I’m just wondering if this is a problem or something that need to be fixed (like it’s harming my site in some way or could come up as a problem again in the future) or if it’s not really important since Jetpack is working fine on my and your end.
Thanks for your help Adam. I’m sure you have better things to do than work on this issue all day, lol ??
Hi Adam. I followed the instructions from that support site. When I got to JSON API the “Allow remote management…” was already clicked though.
I went through and hit ‘Save’ again just in case…but I’m still having the same problems as described though ??
Yes, when I sign in to wordpress.com I am still getting those red error messages and I still can’t edit my Settings page such as site title, tagline & visibility.
I have debugged then filled out the contact form as requested. Thanks.
Thanks Adam, it is https://thesavingsopportunity.com

In reply to: [Jetpack - WP Security, Backup, Speed, & Growth] Remove Dead SitesHi, I’m not sure if this is the right place to post this, but it’s the closest to my issue that I can find.
I was trying to sign up for a Izea and needed to connect my blog. When I do I get the message “That site does not seem to be accessible or no longer has the Jetpack plugin installed.”
I logged into WordPress, which admittedly I only have done once (my blog is new though). Under “My Sites” I have a red warning triangle that says “Can’t access this site data.”
When I click on Settings I get error messages that say “Can’t access this site data” and There was an error retrieving your site settings. Make sure your Jetpack is up to date.” However Jetpack is up to date.
On Settings I am also being blocked from entering a Site Title, Tagline and changing Site Visibility. I can’t enter a cursor in these fields and the “Save Settings” button is even blurred out preventing me from clicking.
Something is wrong and I’m not sure how to fix it. I want to get rid of these error messages…and I wonder about the importance of site settings (title, tagline, visibility) because if they’re important then I want to know how to unblock things so I can edit properly.
I should also mention that I haven’t noticed any site issues related to this. Jetpack is up and running on the website and I can see stats in my Dashboard.
If this is the wrong forum for this question, please let me know and I’ll post it in the correct forum.
I appreciate any help I can get, even if you can only point me to another source.
Thanks in advance,
– Jennifer
