Hi
I am no expert and I am not part of support..
Some of the issues sound like template issues rather than script issues. This may be why others do not see them.
You could change the template (keep the old one of course and see how it looks with a new template. I have three websites using Directorist and I use the Sydney free theme available via WordPress admin
Here’s one of my websites – it is just a basic installation
https://rwjemmett.com/photography-business-directory/
Hope that helps.
From your WordPress admin go to Directorist and then choose Directory Builder.
I have managed to fix similar issues.
The first thing is that the category page that you use should only have the shortcode nothing else. If you add anything else it seems to mess things up
The second is that you can add a category description but this must also be plain text – or the code will show. The category description will then show on a Facebook share for example – use Facebook debug to check.
If you add an image to the category then this will show on shares – otherwise, you will just pick up a random image.
Here are two of my directories that seem to be OK

Good luck
That’s very interesting and I agree that it looks like it needs a fix.
The code worked for category descriptions. Many thanks for your help.
Oh… I see code I will try the code. Apologies I did not see this before.
It would be great to have this feature.
With woocommerce for example when you add text to Catagory or Tag Description it shows on the website.
For posts on my theme, I need to add some code to the template to show category and tag descriptions.
This would improve user experience and probably SEO too.
Here is an example in woocommerce:
https://rwjemmett.com/product-category/cameras/
The category text is “We sell vintage, analogue and digital cameras. Check out the cameras that we have in stock.”
With Directorist Category text does not show.

Just roll back…..They have left instructions on how to do this. Then you will have a great plugin till they have fixed the issues with 7.x So no complaint from me….
