In reply to: [Quick Restaurant Menu] Just what i neededWhat I did to compensate for this was to add a “No photo available” JPG. This keeps things aligned.

In reply to: [Restaurant Menu Manager] Items don't line upI came to read your complaint because I’m seeing the same thing, and I assumed it had to do with me using an unsupported version of WordPress.
Why would you continue to display your menu with a non-functioning plugin for the better part of a year?

In reply to: [W3 Total Cache] Clarification about updating postsI thought this was a simple question to answer, but nobody has addressed it. Let me summarize. If a post does not change (i.e. the entire post is a shortcode), *but* the value of the shortcode *does* change, will the page be refreshed at the point when the shortcode’s value changes, or will the post be considered “static” since the post itself has not been modified?
I tried changing my recent posts shortcode to include post_by=”others” (instead of post_by=”me”), and that solved my problem. Try for yourself and see if it works for you.
An update:
My most recent facebook post was not appearing. I changed my shortcode from post_by=“me” to post_by=“others”, and that fixed my issue. Version 4.2 of the plugin appears to work for me now.
I wonder if this will work for anyone else?
Add my name to the list of people whose plugin no longer functions since the last update. My website has been showing the same posts for the past week. I thought it was because no new facebook posts had been made, but after a new post was made on July 13th, it did not show up.
Removing the shortcode causes the posts to disappear, but when I put the shortcode back, the cached posts appear, but nothing new. No error messages are appearing.
I suspect there’s something wrong with the caching refresh mechanism.
I think you’re right! How did you even discover this? Did you run into some sort of runtime error?
By the way, even though your plugin is called the Easy Facebook Like Box, the best part of the plugin was the shortcode for displaying facebook posts. That’s where the complete and responsive nature really shone through. The posts included photos(!) and were formatted to fit the device, with no scrolling required.
You and your plugin are deserving of top marks. Sometimes, I give a good review after receiving excellent tech support; but your product is so good and complete, I didn’t even need any support.
Too bad not every plugin has such a conscientious author.

In reply to: [Quick Restaurant Menu] Trouble with Restaurant Menu ItemsThanks for your quick response. Media settings for thumbnail size are 150 x 150 px. I am using the same photo in your menu as I did for the Restaurant theme, and the restaurant theme shows the photo properly.
I don’t know if there is anything in my browser that could be causing the AJAX save process to misbehave. I had created one menu that absolutely would not work (would not save updates to description or prices). I finally abandoned that menu in favour of a new one, and that one saves the description and pricing properly, but still not the image.
I can’t see a way to upload a screenshot, so here’s the URL for the image:
And here’s the URL showing a screenshot of the same two menu items when displayed using my WordPress template:

In reply to: [iQ Block Country] Good start, could use some improvementsI don’t disagree that you need to take into account your entire installed base when determining what should, and should not, be added to the feature list. I can also understand that the Javascript plugin to select countries may not support selecting/deselecting.
But, if the Javascript plugin supports the ability to specify an initial state (which is then applied to each country in the list), then you could add an initialization parameter that asks your user whether (s)he would prefer the initial state of the selection boxes to be either SET or CLEAR.

In reply to: [Recent FB Posts] Images not showing when using FirefoxAs indicated in my email response, I am using the latest version of Firefox. I tried to get the website to work on a different computer using Firefox, and it worked fine.
It appears to be something to do with my specific computer. I have tried to disable my extensions, and that has had no effect. I am now convinced it has nothing to do with your plugin, so I won’t trouble you further.
Thanks again for your quick response.
[edit]
I started Firefox in SAFE MODE on my computer, and the website worked perfectly. Therefore, the problem is DEFINITELY being caused by an add-on, or an interaction between multiple add-ons.
[edit #2]
The offending Firefox add-on was Avast Online-Security. With that add-on disabled, your WordPress plugin works correctly. With that add-on enabled, the images from facebook are not displayed. That does not explain why Firefox works correctly on my other computers. I use Avast Online-Security add-on on all my computers.

In reply to: [Yoast SEO] New to WordPress, WordPress SEO – unusual Google listingAs noted in a different thread, my elation at having Google find my website only hours after activating this plug-in has turned to puzzlement. Now, doing any search at all (for “WIAL Canada”, “World Institute for Active Learning Canada”, whatever) does not show ANY results that reference my domain.
The results DO show the international WIAL website, which has a stub indicating that a Canadian affiliate is coming soon. There are also “LinkedIn” references to Philip Cohen, the president of WIAL Canada … but no references for WIAL Canada itself ??
Is there something I can do to “force” Google to look at the site again?

In reply to: [Yoast SEO] Duplicating TitlesI don’t like hacks, but I guess if this gets the job done, I only have to do it once.

In reply to: [Yoast SEO] Duplicating TitlesWell, in a way, I’m glad I’m not the only one with this problem. But, since I’m totally new to WordPress and WordPress SEO, I had no idea this was a relatively new phenomenon. My site has been experiencing this problem since it went live this past weekend.
I hope we get some assistance on this issue, as there are now several threads with similar problems reported.
