In reply to: [SmartVideo - Video Player and CDN] Cannot save settings – Buttons missingIt should be automatically saving the settings for you without needing a save button. If you uncheck the box, leave the page and come back, is it still unchecked when you return?
Thanks for much for pointing that out and also the clear instructions on what happened. We just released a new version 2.1.1 to address this. Let us know if you have any additional issues, thanks!
You are correct that our upload acceleration overrides this setting so that customers can upload larger files since videos tend to be fairly large. Disabling that setting in our plugin does reset it back to the server default.

In reply to: [SmartVideo - Video Player and CDN] defer loading scriptWe already handle lazy loading videos so if you are also doing that on your side, you can remove that functionality as the double lazy load causes the videos to load even slower.
As for why the deferred loading isn’t working in your case, would like to investigate further with you but will need some info about your website.
Since this is a public forum, might be best to send a support request to [email protected] and we can interact there to look at the site and figure it out. Just reference our discussion on the WordPress forum and they will make sure it gets assigned to me for continuity.

In reply to: [SmartVideo - Video Player and CDN] defer loading scriptThe script is deferred by default and shouldn’t slow the loading of the page at all. Depending on how you measure the page load, this could be a false positive on slow loading. See this support article we made about this: https://support.swarmify.com/hc/en-us/articles/360043736033-Why-is-my-page-slower-after-installing-SmartVideo-

In reply to: [SmartVideo - Video Player and CDN] Lazy load auto play?We don’t provide that exact functionality natively, but I think you could be able to do it by using some sort of external lazy loader that doesn’t insert the SmartVideo block until it is in viewport.
We do lazy loading automatically on videos for speed purposes, but in an autoplay scenario, that is bypassed on our side. That is why something external by be needed. I am not familiar with any plugins off the top of my head that I can recommend, but certainly seems like something that would exist in the vast WordPress ecosystem.

In reply to: [SmartVideo - Video Player and CDN] Scam, not freeSorry that you feel mislead. I reread through our plugin info and the only mention of free anywhere is that you can start for free with one of our trial accounts. Were you unable to locate the trial account registration as I can help you out with that if needed. Just let me know as it is not our intention to “scam” anyone with the plugin.
Sorry for the delay as I just saw this comment. Will definitely pass this along to our team although I believe when I last discussed with them, there were a bunch of use cases where it made sense to optimize those as well based on how some people were using WordPress.
The one big positive to optimizing on backend is that when adding new videos, by optimizing videos when previewed on the backend, it gets that import process started so that hopefully the video is ready for streaming before you even publish it to the public side.

In reply to: [SmartVideo - Video Player and CDN] Video doesn’t start automaticallyFor autoplay, just want to ensure first that you have the video set to be muted? If not, that can cause issues with autoplaying as browsers will not block autoplaying of some videos if not muted.
We say some because there are no hard and fast rules on it. The browser makers use various heuristics to determine which videos can autoplay with sound versus not. And it is not consistent.
So the best way to ensure compatibility is to make sure that you have the videos muted for autoplay to work.
If that is already configured properly, then maybe you can point me to a specific video that isn’t functioning either here or by emailing [email protected] and I can take a specific look at that video to see if we can get it worked out for you.

In reply to: [SmartVideo - Video Player and CDN] Disrespect for usersCorrect, Swarmify video hosting does cost money as that way you are the customer instead of services like YouTube where their real customer is the advertiser. That enables us to provide the world’s fastest video hosting while still maintaining affordable pricing for small businesses like yourself.
Sorry that this was disappointing, but you can always take advantage of the free trial period on one of our monthly plans to see if Swarmify SmartVideo is right for you.

In reply to: [SmartVideo - Video Player and CDN] PCloud compatible? This looks correct in terms of the short code, but if you aren’t seeing anything when you preview that page then something must need tweaked. If you don’t mind posting the URL publicly here, I can take a look at the page output to try to diagnose what is happening.
If you would rather share the URL privately, email [email protected] and I will make sure I am on the lookout for that email to get this looked into.
