  • Ach, I was too hasty. When I properly “commented out”
    remove_filter(‘the_content’, ‘wpautop’);
    then it seemed to work.

    I tried the hack that brizer suggested. It dinna work for me!
    I might use it if it were more well-behaved! As is, it does too much damage to the format, as noted by Guymauve.
    I wonder what hack Guymauve used, to make it usable?

    I tried Door #1 and received a 500 error when trying to edit posts. I using shared hosting, which must dislike adding to .htaccess your suggestion:
    <Files "index.php">
    AcceptPathInfo On
    </Files>

    Add me to the list of people using WordPress 1.2.1 for whom the Trackback feature fails. I was surprised since it worked with an earlier version, so I <u>assumed</u> that it worked with the current stable version of WordPress until it was demonstrated to me that it was a problem at my end, rather than at the other end to which I was tracking back.
    IMHO, this is a loss of important weblog functionality. I wonder how it could have been lost during version changes?

    The problem is laziness. If I have WP set to run HTML Tidy before I post, I may correct errors that otherwise I will overlook and only discover if I validate the site or feed or if someone notices something is awry.
