I’m not using plesk to make changes, I just know that plesk likes things “its way” and wasnt sure if I made a change if it would screw it up.

Thanks for the detailed post…A tip like “umask” was exactly what I wanted to know.

And no I’m not a *nix expert, I’m a web developer with a dedicated plesk box. Thought it could be a WordPress issue since it’s the xmlrpc that is creating the file. Doesn’t seem a ridiculous place to post a question about it.

When I create a new file through my FTP program, it gives the correct ownership…it’s just through WordPress’s xmlrpc thing that makes the owner and group “apache”

This wont work for my idea but good suggestion.

I have my own layout that I am adding wordpress to. I want only my general stories to show up on the main page so my friends dont have to be drowned in my geeky posts which would be placed at /category/geek (for example).

Is it possible to do this? If not, why not?

So that worked, but when I publish the article, WordPress doesn’t post it for another 4 hours. Its like there’s a timezone issue or something, but both sites (Docs and WordPress) tell me the same time.

I see it in the wp-admin, it just says it will post it in 4 hours. When I repost an older article it does the same thing.

The same things happens on my end, also the post-slug just goes to a generic id since it has no title to use.

The problem with Google Docs is the html it posts is LAME. It’s throwing
‘s all over the place instead of well-formatted xhtml.

Hopefully Google fixes this.

This does not work for me at all. I put in ./ and it changes automatically to /.

No hacks are needed to do this. Just set your category base to ./

This doesn’t work for me. It makes the urls without “category” but hitting a link say blah.com/categoryname just gives me what blah.com would give me…all the categories.

This really should be treated. With so many requests and such a useful request, I can’t believe it hasn’t already.

I am having this problem as well, and I don’t see a cache file in my scrobbler folder. The folder is chmoded to 777 so I dunno why.

tomcatuk, it might be a php version you are using or maybe you don’t have something setup…it has to be the sidebar picking up the most popular themes or something of the sort. What version WordPress are you using?

most likely due to your monitor…if you have a low quality monitor or its not calibrated correctly, dark grays will be black.

As far as I can tell my theme works in WordPress 2.0.
