  • Actually, wildcard SSL certificate is intended to protect multiple sub-domains, for example, if your sub folder belongs sub domains (images.thelearningenglish.com or anything.thelearningenglish.com) then wildcard certificate can be an ideal solution for you. But your website remains sub folders as directories of the root domain (thelearningenglish.com/images).
To protect your entire website, you have three choices as below.

    • Domain validation certificates (best for you)
    • Organization validation certificates
    • Extended validation certificates

You should install domain validation certificate for your blog, you will get it instantly due to an automated verification process. For further information about SSL configuration on WordPress site refer this article – https://www.ssl2buy.com/wiki/how-to-enable-https-ssl-for-wordpress-site

The certificate is issued on a single sub-domain only (pay.hotguidebelize.com) and its working correctly.

    comodo dv ssl

When access your root domain hotguidebelize.com, getting warning message “NET::ERR_CERT_COMMON_NAME_INVALID”.

SSL certificate common name mismatch error

I think that your domain pointed to shared IP addresses and one of hosting company customer has installed SSL certificate on shared host.

As well, I would like to suggest you to install wildcard SSL certificate that can secure your root domain and its all sub-domains. Your certificate provider (SSL2BUY) offers lowest price $38 wildcard certificate
