In reply to: [Easy Updates Manager] Did not prevent plugin updatingThat new Yoast update with that real-time keyword search and density calculation makes editing large posts impossible for me; anything over 2k words can cause such a delay that a whole paragraph can be typed before it starts to load one letter at a time into the editor. Disable Yoast, problem goes away. Re-enable, problem back. It’s a known issue… well, the users know it but Yoast hasn’t acknowledged it yet. I put in a ticket with Yoast and the response was “pay us, we’ll talk to you.” I tried to remove Yoast, pages disappeared. Whole pages. Re-install, pages re-appear. Only solution is to keep it rolled back to v2.

In reply to: [Easy Updates Manager] Did not prevent plugin updatingI revised the stars. I’m not used to anyone giving a damn about a single user. Thanks

In reply to: [Easy Updates Manager] Did not prevent plugin updatingThe plugin in question is Yoast SEO. It updates itself over and over again. Id love to remove the thing altogether but it breaks the site to remove it. It conflicts with everything! The only solution is to keep it rolled back to an old version, but doing this every few days is annoying. I want to say I’ve had Updates Manager about a week and it was updating everything but Yoast, then today I look at it says at the top “Yoast SEO has been updated. See what’s new!”
I had it set to do everything as it normally would with the exception of Yoast and Jetpack; the two worst culprits for issues; especially when both running at the same time> Jetpack hasn’t had an update since I installed so I can’t tell you whether or not it would have stopped it or not.
I have reset everything in settings and will make sure update all is disabled and see what happens. It’s possible that was set incorrectly but I doubt it. I spent a good amount of time making sure I was configuring it properly, but I am human.
