In reply to: Looking for a form builderHere are the plugins I have tried:
Contact Form 7
Ninja Forms
Contact Forms (Jetpack)
CP Easy Form builder
Visual Form BuilderA few more that I am no listing here because I can’t remember the names, but for any customization I need to cough up some $, which is fine, but only if it’s the best and will do what I want, so keep that in mind if you pay for a form builder.
Thanks!

In reply to: Error Establishing a Database ConnectionOh, and @catacaustic
Me: “the config file is gone of course”
You “That’s a big concern, but I don’t think that you’re completely right there.”
You were spot on. The support person said he or she “…updated your wp-config file to reflect the new database name…”
So, I’m off to find the config file now ?? Thanks again!

In reply to: Error Establishing a Database ConnectionBah! Inconceivable! It was my own doing. Multiple domains hosted and two were using the same database. The database was deleted when I dropped (deleted, didn’t renew) domain A, because the DB belonged to domain A.
The support team was pretty quick to direct my site to another DB that I had set up, and whamo! site’s up and running.
Now, can anyone tell me how database A and database B can have the same content, yet if I delete database A my site goes down? I was under the impression that domain A linked to domain A databases only, etc.
Thanks for your input!!

In reply to: Self hosting and Plugins“unarchive” is the same as “unzip”. right click on the Zip file and select “unzip” and select a location where you want the contents of the zip file to go. Then, go to the location and you’ll see the folder. Open that folder and there is typically another folder within – this folder is typically the same name as the plugin. Upload that entire folder using your FTP program.
Hope this helps and doesn’t hinder ??

In reply to: Plug Ins on PageNot sure if this is what you’re after, but if you are talking about getting a widget to show up on a page, then I suggest a plugin called Widgets on Pages.
Hope that helps!

In reply to: Removing "Protected:" from password protected pagesThanks, Rich. I copied and pasted your code into functions.php and then went to test it. When I click Edit under the Page (so I can then view it because it’s a draft) I get the following:
Fatal error: Call to undefined function add_filter() in .../html/g/wp-includes/functions.php on line 3816
Any suggestions?
Thanks again for your help!

In reply to: Removing "Protected:" from password protected pagesHmm..I’ve tried removing the hash marks, but to no avail. I don’t get the error now, but the “Protected:” is still there.
Just to be clear, I’m copying the entire code as it is and pasting it. Is there anything else that I am missing that would keep this from working?
Is there another solution besides this one that will remove “Protected;” and “Private:”?
Thanks,

In reply to: How to remove “Protected” from pw protected page titlesHi. The information on wprecipes.com states:
The only thing you have to do is to paste the following piece of code in your functions.php file. Once you’ll save the file, the hack will be applied to your your posts.
function the_title_trim($title) { $title = attribute_escape($title); $findthese = array( '#Protected:#', '#Private:#' ); $replacewith = array( '', // What to replace "Protected:" with '' // What to replace "Private:" with ); $title = preg_replace($findthese, $replacewith, $title); return $title; } add_filter('the_title', 'the_title_trim');
I am not understanding where to put the add_filter(‘the_title’, ‘the_title_trim’);
Copying and pasting throws an error on my site, but when I remove that last line, the error is not thrown, but the “Protected” is still visible, so it obviously needs to be included.
Any insight on this is greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
