In reply to: Dashboard Not Updatingcould it be possible that two of the blogs are on one server and the offending blog is on another physical server with different settings?

In reply to: Liberated 1.0I’m using this theme right now actually, and it’s serving me pretty well. I just wish the main page area was a tiny bit wider and there was a little more space between the sidebar and the main text window.
Those are little things though, and functionally there isn’t much I’ve had a problem with in the template.
Perhaps it might be nice to build in a sidebar box for us newbs to place our buttons in.

In reply to: Althought mod_rewrite works -> 404-errorsI just wanted to add that I’ve been searching for the past couple of days to try and figure out why my static pages weren’t showing up. I stumbled upon this thread and decided to check my permalinks and found my htaccess file was not writable. After fixing that, my posts all disappeared and showed a 404 error.
The /%category%/ hint posted above solved all the issues I was having (and didn’t know why I was having them). The incompatability should be one of the first few things suggested to check in problems like these, and it would have saved me a lot of time if I had discovered this thread earlier.

In reply to: 1.5 RSS “Problem” SolvedInteresting…so is this a firefox issue. When I click the RSS 2.0 link on the sidebar, I get a firefox alert message.
Thanks for looking at it, everyone.

In reply to: 1.5 RSS “Problem” SolvedI applied the suggested solution posted in the link above, but I still get the same error message in firefox.
“feed is not a registered protocol.”

In reply to: 1.5 RSS “Problem” SolvedI’m having this problem using firefox and the “liberated” theme, which places the RSS link in the sidebar. So, I’m assuming that if this is correct, I simply need to remove the whole line that references “feed”?
The instructions are a bit unclear, or perhaps I’m just too new at this.

In reply to: WordPress User Sub-BlogsCouldn’t you just give each user an individual catagory under the main page? (I’m new to wordpress, so this may be a bonehead suggestion)

In reply to: Static pages not found? Thanks for the help guys. I’ve figured it all out. I tried to FTP into my site using a stand-alone FTP client and discovered that my service provider doesn’t allow that unless I want to pay extra for a dedicated IP…duh!
Lucky for me, I discovered a check box at the initial screen of the WebShell FTP program they use that you can check to show hidden files. This option is not available anywhere other then the first logon screen, which is why I missed it the first time.
I’ve set the permissions and now everything is working perfectly.
Thanks for your assistance.

In reply to: Static pages not found?I’m having a lot of trouble with my .htaccess file. My service provider seems to have changed the functionality of the webshell, and the .htaccess file is hidden.
I will try to access it using an FTP instead and see if that makes a difference, but I suspect you are correct.
