Just as an update – I contacted customer support about this issue and was told there was nothing they could do. They said to wait 2 weeks and then I would be able to create custom urls again. Well thanks – so far it has been a complete waste of time. I’m sure when their system ‘resets’ my counter it will just auto create 500 custom urls of OLD posts.

I signed up for an account yesterday – bought a url to customize with and overnight my 1000 link limit was exceeded. I made 1 link – the rest were old blog posts that I had no intent on creating bitlinks for. Hopefully this is a glitch that will be corrected. For now I disabled my account. Anyone know of any other similar services I can use?

Resolved – I contacted tech support with Gator Host again and he ran a fix to correct the permissions. All up and running now!

Just as an FYI – I called Host Gator and they said that it may just be that the site has not finished propagating (I changed the nameserver over last night at around 8:00 PM). They said to wait as it may take 24 hours for things to catch up.

No dice – I changed all the files in wp-content to 0644 but nothing seemed to change.

Any other ideas?

I looked and it appears that most of the css and php files are set at 0604. Conversely the other site I moved has these files set at 0644.

I am new to this so I don’t want to mess things up anymore. Is it ok to modify these and in which folders should I be looking?

Oh, and one more question – how do I remove the favicon “T” icon? I uploaded a new favicon.ico file but it still shows the “T”.
