In reply to: ‘Hacked’ post, code was insertedI’ve had exactly this as well. It took me a while to find this thread but anyway. I was using WP 2.7.1 also when it happened to me. The thing was I didn’t realise what was going on for a very long time. I was getting reports that the WP page was blocked for malicious content, but I didn’t realise the page was just trying to pull from an external ip address until i checked the page source. My site is hosted, and I wrongly assumed that 74.222.134.170 was the ip address of the hosted server. I’d been hit by a major bit of hacking on my website a few months ago, and thought that maybe the warning message was from an old index. Anyway… I can safely say that changing the wp_ prefix won’t help prevent this as mine had already been changed.
Thanks for the tip about the 2 security plugins, I’ve just installed them both.
Google

and it looks like a lot of sites have been hit by this.Forum: Fixing WordPress

In reply to: page permalinks broken in upgrade to 2.0 – without htaccessAfter reading dozens more posts on this subject, I tried various things. So far, I have found only one fix: if I manually change the post slug to something completely different then it works.
For instance, if I change from
“digital-intermediate-glossary”
to
“digital-intermediates-glossary”
then it is still broken, but if I change it to
“glossary”
it works.
Is some sort of truncation happening somewhere?
Anyway, for now I have a temporary fix, but I don’t want to leave it this way, because of external links/search engine indexes.
Can anyone shed some more light on this?Forum: Fixing WordPress

In reply to: How do I do this?skippy: that is perfect!
i appreciate the help.
my first thought was that i’d have to do different templates like moshu suggests, but I could bear the thought of having to manage them. this should work fine.Forum: Plugins
In reply to: nicer archives headachesI’ve looked at super archives but I prefer the capability to allow the user to sort the output, for example by category
Forum: Plugins
In reply to: nicer archives headachesthat is part of the problem. the version of nicer archives does not seem to read the theme settings from wordpress at all, so all the elements look wrong. even if i manually change the stylesheet to reference the correct one explicitly, it still looks wrong, because it uses the wrong tags.

In reply to: Enabling wp-email.php and wp-print.phphmm. i tried this out, but it looks like i don’t fall into the .htaccess or the the_ID() categories. I have a permalink structure along the lines of “/wp/index.php/permalink…” how do i get these plugins to work with that?
