In reply to: WP-ADMIN – NOTHING! ZIP NADA!podz – ok no worries
mac OS X 10.3.6
Safari 1.2.4
IE mac 5.2
i got wordpress uploaded to my webserver (from fatcow.com)
here’s a link to the phpinfo
https://www.garionstone.com/phpinfo.php
here’s a link to the bog standard wordpress install
https://www.garionstone.com/diary/index.php
i’ve changed nothing about it
could it really be that both the browsers are incompatible??? I don’t believe that…
but i’ll download netscape 7.2 and try that too
(but i think something in the php code is working right – but where and why – no idea)
cheers

In reply to: WP-ADMIN – NOTHING! ZIP NADA!macmanx – uploaded to correct directory
what is the correct directory
i created a “diary” directory from the root and then uploaded the whole wordpress folder contents including all subdirectories to the “diary” directory
the third step identified the wordpress installation as being in https://www.garionstone.com/diary
so that i assume should have worked
and i’ve look through the forums for over an hour now (more like 2hrs) and can’t find anyone else iwth the same problem :((((((
thanks for all help – i just don’t get this one – makes no senseForum: Fixing WordPress

In reply to: wordpress login – nothing!? IE or Safari…oh yeah and i’ve changed NOTHING from the standard setup – i had changed the index.php and css but i did a total new install with the bog standard wordpress to make sure i hadn’t screwed anything up – although i didn’t touch the wp-admin bit at all
i’m on a mac – but it makes no difference what browser i use – safari or IEForum: Fixing WordPress
In reply to: wordpress login – nothing!? IE or Safari…Ok I just nukes the install and the mysql tables and did a reinstall of wordpress
NADA NOTHING ZIP ZILCH
The WP-ADMIN does NOTHING!!!!
All I have done is:
1) unzip locally
2) update wp-config.php to have my settings
3) uploaded it using ftp
4) ran install.php
5) after 3rd step logged in as admin using auto generated password
6) goes direct to wp-admin/post.php and shows NOTHING only the “WordPress bookmarklet” titled box
WHERE IS THE REST!? WHY IS IT NOT WORKING?
DO I NEED TO CHECK ANY OTHER PHP SETTINGS???
Sorry for the shouting but it’s 12:40am here and i’ve been fighting with this thing for hours and I just don’t get why it doesn’t work
HELP!!!!!
please
cheers

In reply to: wordpress login – nothing!? IE or Safari…Hmmm nope I looked using phpMyAdmin – admin user has level 10
so that’s not it
next guess?Forum: Fixing WordPress
In reply to: wordpress login – nothing!? IE or Safari…Ok will give that a go – just uploading phpMyAdmin to my webserver now – fingers crossed it works.
<sidenote>
Mind you that doesn’t explain why when I first logged in as admin it dumped me to the post.php page with just the bookmarklet box. Is this a safari redirect problem or something???
