Can you try renaming the ms-sites.php on the remote site first?

Could there be embedded media or code in the post that is causing this issue? What if you purge the post of the current content temporarily and replace with simple text, does it display?

I have had odd issue with certain post/pages and plugins that required nothing more then just to re-open and publish again to fix.

Does you other blog have the exact same theme, plugins settings?

You might try moving your plugin directories, one by one, out of the actual wp-content/plugins directory to see if there is a particular plugin that is problematic for some reason.

You will find the WP version in the admin dashboard.

Any width, height or position changes should be in the CSS file for the theme itself.

Have you requested the FTP logs from you hosting provider to confirm the IP addresses that are logging in.

Do you have an older version of WP?

Do you have any other web applications that might be allowing a compromise of some kind?

I read that another user was having a similar issue with their comments and when they disabled and re-enabled Akismet, that seemed to resolve the issue.

When did this start?

Is this a new WP install?

Were there any plugins that were recently installed or updated. If so, have you tried deactivating them to test if there are any issues?

Do you have any plugins that enhance the post/page editor that might be causing an issue?

You might try running an optimize and repair on your database using a plugin or phpmyadmin.

WordPress install with index.php as the default page, can I ask why/what you are trying to do with the home.html exactly?

If you just need the home.html to load before the index.php, you should be able to specify that at you hosting provider or set a default page in your htaccess file if need be.

Whenever upgrading to a new version, making major changes or experimenting with plugins, I am always sure to make a backup of the database in case there is an issue.

Do you have a backup of the DB that you can restore from by chance?

Have you tried running filemon while you are updating to see if there is anything out of the ordinary?

Also, is there anything in the Systems event logs that might give an indication as to what is happening when it stalls?

What advice has HostExcellence given? Do they have phone support that you can use to maybe have them run the install.

It is obvious that the C299323_admin user is having some issues writing to the database.
