In reply to: [Title Experiments Free] Add title experiments via API?Hey Seth –
Sorry, I don’t provide a way in the plugin to interact with it via the REST API. That could be a cool feature, though I’m not sure how many people would actually make use of it.

In reply to: [Title Experiments Free] 34 empty titlesDoes it happen on multiple browsers/computers? If so, it must be a plugin/theme compatibility problem. Do you have any unusual plugins installed that might be messing with the post editor page?

In reply to: [Title Experiments Free] Does it work on homepage?Yeah, that sounds right. If you are using the list of posts for the homepage, the posts that show up on the list will be the experimental titles, but the actual homepage itself can’t be experimented on (since it isn’t a page.)
I’m not sure if there is a way around this. Sorry.

In reply to: [Title Experiments Free] Doesn't play well with nav menus?Strange. I just tested this in one of my staging sites and didn’t have any trouble. If I added the page without specifying a custom Navigation Label, then the plugin would alter the title based on the experiment. If I did put a custom navigation label, then it would always be that label.
The only thing I noticed is that if the navigation label you put in is the same as the first title in the experiment, then WP assumes you want to use whatever the page title is – and then the experiment would kick in. If this is your case, then the way around it would be to swap the titles in the experiment, so that the one you want to be as the permanent navigation label is not the first one.
If that doesn’t help, let me know some more details and I can try to track it down further.

In reply to: [Title Experiments Free] Does it work on homepage?I’m not sure what you mean. Which title are you trying to experiment with? The title of the homepage?

In reply to: [Seriously Simple Podcasting] [1.14.6] Podcast Apps aren't playing audioI should mention:
* The site uses CloudFlare for caching, I’ve set it to development mode and purged the cache.
* It uses nginx and I have the recommended configuration for thepodcast-download

In reply to: [Title Experiments Free] Any issues with local caching or CDN?Hi –
You will want to put the plugin in ‘Javascript Mode’ which is in the settings. This allows the plugin to work with caching system.
Thanks.

In reply to: [Title Experiments Free] Question about server resource usageUnfortunately, there is no way to change a social media post after it’s been shared. The social media sharing aspect of title testing is difficult to manage since your site has no control over the post once it’s been shared. This means that someone clicking on a post from Facebook may see a different title than the one they clicked. This usually isn’t a problem though, since the meaning of the title should be relatively equivalent.
It’s important to note that people who come to the post directly from a social media site are not counted among the ‘views’ since they didn’t see the title printed elsewhere on the site. This keeps the score of your titles more accurate. The free version of the plugin won’t automatically stop the experiments. You are right though, that worse performing titles will be shown less and less often. How long this takes depends on your traffic levels, the titles performance, and your recalculation interval. The premium version (which we can’t discuss on these forums) does have that feature. You can get more information from the website: https://wpexperiments.com

In reply to: [Title Experiments Free] Question about server resource usageThe load on the server won’t be much different whether you use javascript or not. The same things happen, it just depends on when they happen. If you are using any sort of page caching, you must use the javascript method for the plugin to accurately record conversions.
2 hours seems like a good number for you. This means that the server will do it’s statistical calculations once every two hours, during the other requests it uses a much simpler and faster method.
