In reply to: [List Petfinder Pets] [Plugin: Petfinder Listings] Lists of optionsHi Bridget,
I was hoping more for a list of attributes i.e. dog breeds. The api states call breeds.list for a list of valid breeds, but I am not experienced enough to create this yet. I see the animal attributes are barnyard, bird, cat, dog, horse, pig, reptile, smallfurry, so that is helpful.
I used both the small and large default short code used as an example, but only the small short code [shelter_list] worked for some reason. If I wanted to list a breed per state, i.e. poodles, like this site example did for Italian Greyhounds: https://www.midwestigrescue.com/adoption/available-igs-in-missouri-and-kansas/ how would I do this?
I am not affiliated with a shelter, which is probably why I am not familiar with shelter ids. ?? I have a breed site and would like to make a page for each state pointing visitors to applicable shelters within the state.
I am going through your code now; I just feel out of my league. I need to start somewhere though, just lost atm. I have never created something this large before. Just small school projects. Falling forward I guess. ??
Respectably,

In reply to: Permalinks, .htaccess and the about us page@t31os – Thanks for the insight, thats exactly what it was saying. “If your .htaccess file were writable, we could do this automatically, but it isn’t so these are the mod_rewrite rules you should have in your .htaccess file. Click in the field and press CTRL + a to select all.” Though I changed the file to allow write permissions, still wasn’t able to get it to work. I did copy/paste the code into the file and it now displays the permalink nicely. I am probably just shy around the server admin portions of the setup at the moment. ??

In reply to: Permalinks, .htaccess and the about us pageBorked. lol. Well, I wish I could say it worked. I deleted the .htaccess in the root, choose the default permalink, saved changes, went back to the site and its still a blank white box of nothingness. Tried this process about 3 times with the same result.
Then, for some reason, I went to the themes…and noticed a different theme was now chosen…one I didn’t have in the theme folder, if that makes sense. So, I am not sure why, but my themes could have been affected also. Does the .htaccess file have anything to do with themes I wonder? Since I have been trying to figure this out, I have not touched themes. Weird. Well, thanks for the help, it is working now. ??
