This is not true. Checkout results/pages can be generated by any payment system or plugin.

And the visits were bots

Just before each email, the site was visited with some parameters for ES like (hash truncated and domain changed for privacy):

This is happening without any registration or subscription request from the user. We have spoken to the users and they did not access the site at all. We also checked the logs.

We have had almost a hundred emails sent to users who say they did not interact with the system in any way during that time.

We checked the logs and there is no evidence of the email recipients trying to access the site.

It does not help. WordPress sync is set to “No”.

We also want an ability to provide our own page(s), preferably using conditionals and/or PHP.

Has caused us a lot of work figuring out which tables are the active ones and cleaning up the others.
