I was able to “publish_stream” to facebook when offline using another framework, but that was a year ago. Since then facebook has depreciated the “offline_access” permission as of October 3rd, 2012. It seems the implication is that server apps cannot publish_stream on the user’s behalf. I suppose it makes sense for facebook to move in this direction so that people either use their apps or login with facebook to keep renewing the short-lived user access_token.
I’m not sure how social media management tools that offer scheduled content posts can continue to do so.
The usability for SFC sucks because I have to login to facebook to publish my blog post to facebook, which I was trying to avoid by using WP and SFC in the first place.
