Theme support could not help.
Tried several things:
1. Tested PHP versions 7.2 to 7.4
2. Uploaded fresh theme and child theme files
3. Turned off all plugins
No change
What helped was to reset WP using the WP Reset plugin – solved the problem in 5 mins!
