In reply to: Blog is trashed!Guys,
The information is 99% missing. There is one page in there that is obsolete and has not been included for some time and the image is correct – but not used on that page. That is why I’m curious about what can be gained by posting my link…the data is obviously on the server because I can see it all; but I would think that the information in the dashboard is what you would need to see to determine what is in error.
Because I am not experienced in the internals, I suppose it’s possible that I messed up something. However, if that were the case, why would my pages show correctly (although in need of some editing)?
At any rate, here is the link:

In reply to: The page isn't redirecting properlyOriginally, I had the page set in hierarchy. I removed it as a sub-page and the numbers went away. Perhaps coincidence, but it did go away.
The problem that confuses me is that I have two pages – one works and one does not. I’m not sure the host can help me, since it seems it is something I did and just can’t find it.
Frustrating…

In reply to: The page isn't redirecting properlyIt is not a custom format and IS one of the presets. It is one of the options I have in the Permalink page…a radio button.

In reply to: The page isn't redirecting properlyActually, I was able to get the numbers (ie 172-2) removed from the url and the problem remains. I checked in Chrome and this is the error message:
“This webpage has a redirect loop
The webpage .. has resulted in too many redirects. Clearing your cookies for this site or allowing third-party cookies may fix the problem. If not, it is possibly a server configuration issue and not a problem with your computer.Error 310 (net::ERR_TOO_MANY_REDIRECTS): There were too many redirects.”

In reply to: The page isn't redirecting properlyWell, the reset didn’t work, but I think you are on to something. The permalink format I chose is: [https://abcxyz.org/blog/sample-post/].
But what is showing is: [https://abcxyz.org/blog/172-2/sample-post/].No matter how many times I reset the permalinks, the changes never take in the edit page.

In reply to: The page isn't redirecting properlyI should have included in the original post that I am pretty new to this stuff. SO….
.htaccess file in root –
WP root or website root?
.htaccess: filename ore extension? If you are referring to the permalink that is next to “View Page”, I am having the same issue with that page. I can, however, view it when I click the “Preview Page” button.
I should also add that the issue I am referring to are for Pages, not Posts. I’m not sure if that is relevant.
Hopefully, this info helps…

In reply to: Unable to locate Main Admin PanelThis is an update to the original post…
From what I am reading, I am missing the sidebar for the admin. I have no widgets, and no plugins. This is the same in both Firefox and Chrome. IE7 will not even accept my login ( I don’t use it much anyway).I found posts that said something about an arrow or circle that will expand the sidebar, but I don’t seem to have that, either.
Help, please…
Thanks again.

In reply to: HostnameI tried that. Here is what happended:
>I entered my password and Id
>I entered https://ftp.domainname.com
>I clicked proceedIn the box where I put the ftp info, it automatically put https://www.domainname.com so that it looked like the following:
https://ftp.domainname.com https://www.domainname.com
I tried this in both Firefox and Google – same results.
Any ideas?
Thanks again,
Jake
