Hi @kiwihawk ,
Currently, we don’t have the feature to randomize galleries inside albums. I’ve made a note of the feature request and we’ll keep it on our radar to be reviewed as we plan out our roadmap for the future.
Have a good one.
Hi @mdelonger
I am glad to help. This seems to be an issue with some sever configuration, the backslash is used to escape symbols, this might also be somehow related to ModSec or something similar (we have seen cases where special characters trigger fals security warnings, so escaping symbols can prevent this).
I would suggest you to check for plugin and theme conflicts first, just in case.
Deactivate all your plugins except NextGEN Gallery and switch to a Twenty Series theme, then check again. If the issue is gone, set your theme and check again, if the issue does not appear start reactivating your plugins one at a time. Check after each.
Then if that does not help find a cause, reach out to your hosting company and ask them if there is any option on the server that might cause the special character escaping.
Hi @newtechweb
This is due to the theme applying some styling to their header, in this case a z-index value of 10010.
Let’s try going to Appearance > Customize > Additional CSS and add the following code at the end
div.et_pb_sticky_module{
z-index: 3 !important;
}then publish. If you see the sticky header is behind some elements anywhere, you can bump the number to a higher one. You can learn more about this here. Basically z-index defines the layer in a stack where an element should go. By increasing the value, you move the element closer to the front, that is why by having 10010 the header was in front of everything.
You can also try reaching out to the Divi Theme support and see if they can find a better fix, since both Divi and NextGEN are quite popular, they might have already heard about this issue too.
I hope this helps. Let me know how it went.

Thanks so much for taking the time to share your thoughts, and enjoy ??Hi @rschmunk
I took one of my images and ran it through https://www.thexifer.net/ and changed the date, it now shows august 1st,which is what I set. I would suggest you to check the image data from the files you receive and if they look off, then it is probably a problem with the device they are taken.
This means you would need a bulk metadata editor to make the changes easier.
I hope this helps.
Hi @cadrago21
It seems that you are using the paid version of Envira Gallery. If you have an active license subscription with us, could you please submit a support ticket through the Envira Gallery account dashboard when you have a chance??
From there, our support team will be able to take a closer look at your request.?
Thanks.
Hi @rschmunk
I am glad to help. When you click on the “meta” button below each image in Manage Galleries, what date is displayed? See my screenshots here and here
I ran this test with images from my iPhone 14 Pro Max, an old Lumia Phone and my Olympus camera, which all show proper dates.
I think there could be something wrong with the device used to take the pictures or with how they are handled before uploading that might change the metadata in the files.
Are these images taken in different devices? Are all uploaded from the same device?
I will be waiting for your reply.
Thanks!
Hi @sublimese
Thanks for your explanation, so the issue could be explained like this: Thumbnails for portrait images are rotated 90 degrees counter clockwise, correct?
Could you try checking if the images have a rotation value in their metadata? I use https://www.thexifer.net/ once you upload, click the exif.me button and under “exif camera” tab, scroll to the bottom and check “Orientation”, let me know what the value is.
You can, try stripping the rotation info from one of the images and upload it again and see how it goes too.
I will be waiting for your reply.
Thanks!
