I see Spectra 2.13.2 was released today. One item related to the Spectra Form, but unfortunately, doesn’t look like this specific issue has been addressed yet.

Yup! I’ve raised this issue with support as-well. (“I understand your frustration and appreciate you bringing this to our attention. […] We’ll add your request to our feature request list and consider it for future development.“)

The emails sent from the Spectra Form block use whatever field is named “Email” as the “From” instead of the “Reply To” which, in my case, causes DMARC authentication to fail because the domain in the “From” does not match my domain, thus causing most of these emails to end up in spam. If you have no field named “Email” the resulting email is sent from “[email protected]”.

You can modify this default behavior by installing another plugin like WP Mail SMTP, but this default behavior is obviously very bad practice and needs to be fixed. I’ve not run into this issue with any other plugin that sends email.

The other workaround I’ve found is to add a Hidden field to the form, name it “Email”, and set the value to whatever email address you want the “From” to be (in my case “[email protected]”), and then change the name of the visible email field to something else (like “Email Address”). This does appear to work, but creates the undesirable side affect of that hidden field also being included in the resulting list of form fields included in the email that is sent (not a huge deal, but obviously not pretty).

BF – You need to fix this!!! At the very least use the WordPress default “[email protected]” as the “From” address, or better yet, just add a configurable “From” in the form settings.

I can confirm Spectra 2.6.2 has resolved this form issue for me.

Same issue here. Looks like Spectra 2.6.0 broke the contact form. Rolled back to 2.5.1 to get form working again.

This is the second time in not to long that a Spectra update has broken the contact form. Please make sure dev team gets contact form added to their testing procedure before releasing new versions.

Just as FYI… Upgrading to Astra Theme 4.1.3 has resolved this issue for me.

Even though The Events Calendar isn’t specifically called out in the release notes (https://wpastra.com/changelog/astra-theme/), I suspect the fix: “get_the_excerpt() callback breaks the functionality of external plugins” is what resolved this issue with TEC.

Upgrading to Astra Theme 4.1.3 has resolved this issue for me.

My Spectra forms are also failing. Multiple sites, very simple forms as well as more complex ones.

I’ve tried disabling required from all fields, disabling reCAPTCHA, deleting entire form and re-creating from scratch, purging site cache, and different browsers. And now based on oridwanbello’s note, I tried moving the form outside the container it was in, but it still fails for me.

Unable to determine why it’s failing.

Same problem for me… Appears to be a problem with the plugin provided USPS API user id.

I registered for my own USPS Web Tools API account at https://www.usps.com/business/web-tools-apis/ then updated User ID in setting with the username provided by USPS. Working now.

I just updated Astra to 3.4.1 and I can confirm this issue is now fixed (based on changelog, looks like fixed in 3.4.0). The snippet provided above no longer functions and thus I removed it. Thank you for the temporary fix!
