I’m showing 5 days for my regular posts, which is what I want to show.

Is there somewhere to change how many posts are showing for the archives?

Ok, never mind answering me. I searched google and found gamerz’ forum where he answered this question for someone. I tried it and got it working properly.

Thanks, Podz, it’s the same thing I’m thinking, I just don’t understand how they can say ‘everything’s showing up fine here’ and not be able to replicate the problem.

I was able to get into the admin panel for a minute and I turned off a couple of plugins. When I turned off the CoppermineSC plugin everything started working again.

I don’t know if that’s a coincidence of time (the site was finally functional) or if it’s to do with that plugin connecting to another database. I’ll contact the creator and see what he thinks.

    Thanks again.

Just changed the padding in the post titles and haven’t seen it occur again since. hmmmm

Well I thought it was all fixed up, I reverted to a previous stylesheet and kept refreshing and didn’t see the problem. Until another refresh and *voila* there it was again.

I suppose I should be starting with the absolute basic stylesheet that came with, but it’s a helluva lot of work to do for right now to get it looking the way I want it to, so I’ll save that for a day when I feel like there’s lots of time.

Thanks, Minna, for an answer ?? I did change something in the stylesheet quite some time ago (perhaps that’s when the problem started occurring), but it was so long ago I can’t remember WTF it was.

It might have been something on ‘a:hover’ or ‘a:active’ so I’ll go and have a look at that when I have a minute, or perhaps go back to a previous stylesheet if I can find one before changes.

I know you know all this stuff. I should have just posted on your site (like you’re the help desk or something) ??

Is it possible that this question is unanswerable? Possibly no one knows why sometimes my sidebar appears to the right but below my post section and when you mouseover my title it suddenly appears where it’s supposed to?

Is this a really hard question? I figured someone would have some thoughts… someone must be a css or wordpress guru that would have an inkling.

I don’t understand why, in 22 days, nobody has even said boo.

I suppose I can continue to seek help every 7 days.

Still wondering here. Although I have noticed that it doesn’t seem to be happening in Firefox, only in Avant.

Yes, I’m sure it’s related to the showHide plugin, but I have no idea what the error message means or how to correct it.

Here’s what it shows me in the firefox javascript console with the error:

    <script type="text/javascript">function showHide(entryID, entryLink, htmlObj, type) {if (type == "comments") {extTextDivID = ('comText' + (entryID));extLinkDivID = ('comLink' + (entryID));} else {extTextDivID = ('extText' + (entryID));extLinkDivID = ('extLink' + (entryID));}if( document.getElementById ) {if( document.getElementById(extTextDivID).style.display ) {if( entryLink != 0 ) {document.getElementById(extTextDivID).style.display = "block";document.getElementById(extLinkDivID).style.display = "none";htmlObj.blur();} else {document.getElementById(extTextDivID).style.display = "none";document.getElementById(extLinkDivID).style.display = "block";}} else {location.href = entryLink;return true;}} else {location.href = entryLink;return true;}}</script>

It says function showHide does not always return a value, Line 40.

I have no idea what that means.

There’s always this discussion about opening “new windows” when linking, and somebody always talks about it being invalid and how much they hate it. However, it is valid in xhtml transitional, which is why I keep using transitional because I like ALL links to open in new windows and not have to use a back>back>back>back button whenever I check out a link someone’s posted.

And I don’t feel like right clicking and choosing options, so there’s my two cents. Hurray for _blank targets!

Kafka, where do you upload the template to? I tried uploading it to my themes-default directory, then created a new page using the allauthors template, but when I viewed it, it didn’t show any author default information.

There is a spoiler plugin at https://secandri.com/blog/2005/02/22/spoiler-plugins-for-wp-15/ which will hide text and images until you click on it.

Thanks, cypher, for your response. Self-explanatory might be self-explanatory if you have a clue about php or mysql, unlike me.

But what happened was that it just fixed itself. I tried it again a couple of times, and then all of a sudden everything was working.

So luckily I don’t have to do anything with some tables or phpmyadmin.

Actually I hadn’t because I couldn’t find any way to contact him on his site, but then I just went back and saw that his resume is there, with an email address, and so I will try to email him to see if I can get any response there.
