In reply to: Transfer from Wix to WordPressDNS can take up to 24 hours to fully propagate through the internet. In the meantime, you may experience flip-flop of DNS settings. Not to worry, by tomorrow your domain will consistently point to Dreamhost.

In reply to: Transfer from Wix to WordPressYes, first you should create your new blog on Dreamhost.
Then, when it’s ready to go live you’ll point the DNS by log into your Google account.

Once the entire process is complete and your new site is live, you can cancel your Wix account.

In reply to: Cannot install it the second time.did you upgrade your version of WordPress? perhaps your other theme was incompatible with the newest WordPress.
Forum: Installing WordPress
In reply to: Cannot install it the second time.i dont think you’ll want to bring back the old database. if you want to copy just the posts content over, import only that table into the new database.
Leave the files alone as well; the only thing you would want to copy from your old site will be the /uploads/ and a custom theme (if you were using one).

In reply to: Cannot install it the second time.ok, if everything is deleted and databases all erased, then start a fresh install.
re-upload the files, create a new database. but use a different database name, username, and password. That will avoid any confusion with the new install.
Also, in the wp-config.php make sure you change the info to your new DB settings, and also get a new security hash just in case.

In reply to: Transfer from Wix to WordPressI believe Wix registers their domains through https://www.networksolutions.com so you should contact Network Solutions and tell them you need access to your domain to change the DNS over to Dreamhost.

In reply to: Cant reset PermalinksTry this:
BACKUP your database first, just in case!
1. Login to the SQL database using phpMyAdmin, and open your WordPress database.
2. Do a search for /wp/ to find out which table references it.
3. Find the table field containing the /wp/ and make note of both the table name and field name.
4. Run the following SQL query (using your tablename and fieldname):UPDATE tablename SET tablefield = replace(tablefield, “/wp/”, “/”);

In reply to: Cannot install it the second time.Hmm, sounds like quite a predicament. Did you delete the wordpress files from the server too?
if not, try deleting all of those, and double-check your databases are all deleted.
Now, re-upload wordpress files and try install again.
