In reply to: Cannot Back Up (BAckup) DatabaseGotta admit that I always just do backups with the hosting software. That way I know I get everything and in a form that I can reimport back in.

In reply to: Image issues after import from WP.comThe images don’t come over. (I believe it says that on the export page.) You have to manually move them over or keep your wp.com blog in place and just hotlink to your images.

In reply to: wordpress.com stats plugin api keyIs there support for this plugin?
Not saying “Please” and the “Bueller? Bueller?” bit is probably why you didn’t get much help previously. Just something to think about as politeness will go a long way around here.
Actually you’re at the wrong site. API key issues are handled over at wp.com since that’s where the key is coming from.
Neil is probably talking about the email you received when you created your wp.com account. The API key should have been contained within that.
Does the email address you’ve hidden with the ‘*******’s match up with the admin email address for the blog?

In reply to: Which plugins do you feel are necessaryDepends. You may want to give wordpress some more use first and determine for yourself when you think you need additional software. That, click on the Extend link at the top of the page that you’re looking at, and search either here or with google for ‘essential wordpress plugins’ to see previous discussions on the topic.

In reply to: Why can’t I get help on the darn SUPPORT forum!?But it is easy to see why.
You must have missed it then as what you write really shows a lack of experience with this forums.
There are a lot of threads asking for help.
Actually there are a lot of threads demanding help, not asking for it. Also most topics have been discussed previously many times over in the past with solutions quickly found by searching. (Perfect example) The problem is most folks post first and wait until someone answers them instead of searching or even looking through the docs provided. That takes time away from the volunteers who spend all their time trying to help as many as they can.
There are other reasons as well that don’t seem to be recognized by the powers that be and I seriously doubt they ever well.
