Thank you Menaka, after much sleuthing I found it – (it didn’t appear on all browsers)

It was via plugin WPAccessibility – I had checked ‘Add outline to elements on keyboard focus’ and the color and thickness of the outline was coming from ‘user agent’…
WP Accessibility allows for styling of color on that outline, or you can also turn off that option.

Yes, it is 1.8.0.1 – it is not the Pro version, however.
CV is great, I figure there is some javascript conflict, but is not an issue on this particular site as I’ve decided to use Customizr’s featured pages.

I’ve just discovered this thread by looking for a place to post a conflict that I just discovered – wanted to be sure there is no other discussion on this –

There is a conflict with Content Views and the hamburger menu on Customizr theme. The regular menu works ok – but the hamburger menu opens then quickly disappears. Deactivating Content Views fixes it.

If there’s any way anyone knows to use both of these, it would be good to know.

The missing widgets were in “Inactive Widgets” in the Dashboard.
Not sure how they got there or how any of this happened, but at least happily the widget content was saved there. (they were also in the wp_options as you said)

I’m putting them back into the sitebars.

Do you know of any way to disable the automatic update of Customizr… – it was that update the broke it, I’m assuming.

First thank you so much for this reply –
I downloaded a new zip of Customizr and replaced it via ftp – I’m actually using a child theme of Customizr
the site looks ok but now I’m missing all the widgets…
no sidebar, no footers…

any advice on where I can find these perhaps in the database? I had a lot of content in there.

The Dashboard indicates there are no widgets…

Thank you so much – this line in child-theme functions.php does work.

On further poking around with this issue (which occurred after the theme update), the Visual Editor was using whatever the 2nd font was set to in GoogleFonts (from Customizr dashboard.)

I don’t those particular font combinations and overrode them in the Typography section – which seems to be working now with that filter addition, THANK YOU.

Am I correct in that Customizr in inc/admin/class-fire-admin-init.php sets the editor font to be customized according to the Google Font setting…?

I’ll mark this as resolved but thanks for any more insight.

re your comment on ‘same file…’ so far fseems ok – the student goes into the dashboard with assignments – I’ve plugged up dashboard access using a plugin to minimize their confusion ?? but am still testing the flow.
