In reply to: [Social Media Counters] The href URL must be absoluteHi Edengabe: I changed to a WordPress plug-in called ‘Really simple Facebook Twitter share buttons’. Does the same thing. I still prefer Social Media Counters but couldn’t afford to be without a Facebook “like”.

In reply to: [Social Media Counters] The href URL must be absoluteThanks, Enej. Sadly, it makes no difference to me. ??

In reply to: [Related Posts] Fatal error after updateI figured it out, Silvo, sorry. I had another related posts’ plug-in and there was a PHP conflict. Sorry to have bothered you.
Solved it by uploading WordPress again. I have a funny feeling I uploaded everything with a forced rename to lowercase. Amateur mistake!
I just installed WordPress to a new domain and I get an HTTP 500 error, saying that Jetpack cannot connect to the server. Yet I have no plug-ins—it’s a fresh installation. So I think Jetpack is incompatible, too. However, all my other installations (which were upgrades from previous WordPresses) work fine.

In reply to: [Plugin: jetpack] site_inaccessibleThank you, mrfefe. I’ll wait a few more days. WordPress was installed on it on Saturday NZDT so I hope it comes right soon. I’ve never had to wait before so I assume the new WordPresses are less efficient then?

In reply to: [Plugin: jetpack] site_inaccessibleSame issue here. Brand new installation, no plug-ins yet at all. I’ve installed half a dozen WordPresses on this server without an error message like this. I do have xmlrpc.php (to the above enquirer, it’s in your main WordPress directory).
Ebiven, I can, but in the meantime, I have traced the bug to another plug-in which upgraded today (Artiss Social Bookmarks) and have reported it to the author. Apparently there was a problem and he will remedy it immediately.

In reply to: Pages only load partially, then stopAn update: it turns out it was Artiss Social Bookmarks. I downgraded to v. 3.1.2 and the pages are back to normal. I have notified the plug-in author.
Thank you, Gene and Daedalon for your input.
I had a similar issue, Gene. After updating Artiss Social Bookmarks, my site stopped loading in full. I deactivated every plug-in (to no avail, incidentally) and tried reactivating—and found Efficient Related Posts will no longer work.
It’s odd, as it worked perfectly fine till today.
I will try Better Related Content now.
(Incidentally, I could not log in to this page using Firefox for Ubuntu and can only post via Windows. Not my day today!)
Hamradiojohn, did you ever find out if it was the plug-in?
I am using other ones but since today I have had the same problem as you: partial loading. However, I have deactivated all my plug-ins (including the one that was updated today) to no avail. Just wondering if some plug-ins might actually affect WordPress itself (e.g. modify code in the software).
It’s definitely not restricted to WordPress and appears to be a bug on the Facebook end. I’ve encountered it not only on my WordPress blogs, but on a Mediawiki site I have, as well as one that I’ve hard-coded.
Clay’s link works (thank you, Clay) but it doesn’t help our readers, who might not want to go to the trouble. ??

In reply to: ‘Views over 48 hours’ not updatingFolks, they seem to be moving again. I’ll close this ticket for now.

In reply to: ‘Views over 48 hours’ not updatingLooks like my stats have, indeed, frozen. Just that they froze after the 48-hour summary.
I seem to remember last time, someone from WordPress “freed” them.

In reply to: Can’t change date and time of publicationThank you—will give the plug-ins ideas a go. I designed the theme so I’m pretty sure it’s not that (in that nothing with the design affected that part).
