Is there a link where we can look at what is troubling you?

CSS gives me fits. I understand it but hunting a simple little fix drives me nuts.

The problem I’m running into is that this theme is a hybrid. The front page functions like a magazine theme.

ALL images are posted via the “Custom Field” box.
ALL images are pre-assigned to a specific size and formatted to that size via the tim-thumb plugin.

There is no option to place a video on the front page. I can add one to the article and it will be there once a visitor clicks on the front page link but they won’t have access to the video until they go to the page.

I want the video to replace the image.

I really like the overall appearance and functionality of this theme. I just want the added functionality of placing a video on the front page.

I tried the wp-youtube plugin without success.
I’ve also looked at the videographer theme – I may end up going to it but I’d rather not.

Any more ideas?

In the theme I’m using I had to add an “exclude” statement to the header.php

Here is what it looks like:

  <?php wp_list_pages('exclude=2,14,76,106,253,290,372&title_li='); ?>

I would guess that it has something to do with your class=”selected”. have you copied that “class” identifier to the new blogs CSS?

Well, I think you should look on the left side of your dashboard, find “Pages” and select “Edit”. Find the page that says, “HOME” and rename it.

Try renaming your second “Home” page to “About Us”

I reinstalled 2.8.3 a second time and double-checked the permissions. I found some that weren’t right, especially in the admin and includes folders. WALLA…. it’s back up and running.

I renamed my theme folder.

I renamed my plug-in folder and created a new folder called “plugins” with nothing in it.

Still no luck.

I feel like I might have been hacked. I’ve been reading about a hack that adds a malicious .jpg to the database. I’m going to start searching for this. If I find anything I’ll post here so everyone will know.

I upgraded to 2.8.3

I renamed my plugins folder to plugins_bak

Still no luck. I get a white screen when I go to my homepage and I can’t access the admin.php or any other page.

I can still access my site thru FTP.

I called my host and they did a scan on their end and found no problems.

I was working on the function.php file just before I lost everything. However, I didn’t lose everything for a good 30 minutes after adding something to the function.php file. I restored the original function.php file from the Theme files that I had saved on my hard-drive. Still no luck.

Any other ideas?

I always FTP my images and avoid the WP system.

Found it…

I remembered that the last Plug-in upgrade I did was the “All In One SEO Pack”.

I disabled it and everything returned to normal.

Thanks for the reply. The link to Core_Update is interesting, above my head but interesting.

I’ve read all the instructions for Upgrading WordPress and I’ll probably end up doing a manual upgrade but that kind of defeats the purpose.
