In reply to: Theme editor broken in 2.8.4?I had the same problem when I upgraded to 2.8.4, my theme broke. I contacted my webhost, BLUEHOST, and was told they had received other calls about themes breaking with this upgrade. I had to revert back to 2.8.3 which means my site will now be vulnerable to hacks. Very disappointing.
I had a similar problem, my theme broke this evening, after I upgraded to 2.8.4. I contacted my hosting company, BLUE HOST, and they said they have received other calls about this particular upgrade breaking themes. I have no idea how to locate a wordpress compatible theme which will work with the latest upgrade. I reverted back to 2.8.3 to get my website and current theme functioning again.

Forum: Plugins
In reply to: Plugins missing from manage pluginsI discovered the problem. I use the Tidy-Up Plugin. When I was notified there was an update, I used automatic update. Once this plugin was updated, it caused all plugins to be removed from Manage Plugins. I discovered this when my subdomain had the same update and after updating, it also removed the Manage List. I was able to screen back and then deactivate the plugin and the Manage Plugin list returned.

In reply to: Plugins missing from manage pluginsThanks for the advice. I removed it.
I still need to figure out why my manage plugins page is empty and how to restore them.
Forum: Plugins
In reply to: Plugins missing from manage pluginsNot sure why its there, actually I didn’t realize it. The description says :”This file controls many aspects of PHP’s behavior. In order for PHP to
; read it, it must be named ‘php.ini’. PHP looks for it in the current
; working directory, in the path designated by the environment variable
; PHPRC, and in the path that was defined in compile time (in that order).”
Wouldn’t it cause me problems if I delete it?Forum: Themes and Templates
In reply to: Edit ‘view source’Thanks very much for the advice. I’ll investigate your suggestions. Again, thanks.
Forum: Themes and Templates
In reply to: Edit ‘view source’Thank you for the response. Unfortunately the header.php in /wp-content/themes/ contains no meta tags, neither does the php.header in my webhost file manager. These files are generic. The meta tags only show up in the ‘source’ thus my rationalie for trying to edit the ‘source’ page to correctt those that appear there.
If I use my meta tag plugin, it just adds additional meta tags rather than replacing those already existing in ‘view source’
Again, thanks for your reply.Forum: Fixing WordPress
In reply to: Updating header php does not workI attempted to add meta tags going into Cpanel, file manager, public html and accessing the quadruple theme; then editing the php.header. When I added the above meta tags, my theme is completely removed and my all my blog data is thrown to the left side of the screen.
Is there anyone who might have any suggestions on how to insert meta tags into CPanel? Thanks.Forum: Fixing WordPress
In reply to: Permalinks not found errorsI had to turn elsewhere.

In reply to: Permalinks not found errorsOk, it seems each post not being recognized is because I assigned the PARENT as the Category. By changing each individual post as its own category seems to remove the error, however now I have 66 posts which have all become their own category, which removed the PARENT from the Category widget on my site. Anyone, anyone have any suggestions on how to keep my individual posts which I have now set to their own category and place them under a PARENT?

In reply to: Permalinks not working. both 2.51 & 2.6I never had this permalink problem with 2.5. I contacted my webhost and was told I had broken permalinks which is causing the 404 problem.
They suggested changing the php configuration from PHP5 to PHP5(Fast CGI). Unfortunately this did not correct the permalink problem.Forum: Fixing WordPress
In reply to: Permalinks not working. both 2.51 & 2.6I continue to also get permalink 404 errors after updating to WP 2.6.1. I understand many people are having this same issue.
When will there be a WP release to correct this problem?
