Sorry for the problem, it stems from a deeply hidden and severe bug: if tooltip keyword contains the php regular expression metacharacters: “‘/”, it will disrupt the operation of the regular expression and return no content. In new version 9.2.9, we fixed this bug, and then we tested all 21 php regular expression metacharacters to ensure this kind of problem will not happen again ??

We know some users confused by this design — because the words “Glossary Index Page” , in their language and understanding, a “Glossary Index Page” is supposed to have all the functionality of a glossary — that is, the functionality of a glossary created with the glossary’s shortcode.

Sorry for the confusion, we will change the function like this way:

When a new user installs and activates the wordpress tooltip plugin for the first time, we will automatically create two pages, the first is “glossary” — we will automatically add the glossary shortcode to this page, so that this automatically created “glossary” page will have full glossary. We will put a link to the default glossary page at the top of the glossary settings panel, so that users can use glossary without any setup work.

Second, we will automatically create a second page called “glossary list” or “glossary index”, and automatically set this page to be the glossary archive page.

And we will link the glossary index page option to our detailed tutorials and DEMOs, so that when users are confused, they can click on the links to view our tutorials and DEMOs directly, and immediately understand the use of the glossary index page and the difference between the default glossary page.

About issue of glossary index page, sorry for the miss-understanding, when you install wordpress tooltip plugin, wordpress tooltip plugin will create a page “glossary” automatically, as glossary index page — we will list all tooltip terms / glossary terms in this page automatically, to help users improve SEO rank — this page “glossary” is a tooltip category archive page based on user’s feature request.

If you want to create a wordpress glossary which have navigation bar, letters, glossary table with title and content…etc with full function of a glossary, you can insert the shortcode [glossary] in any wordpress post.

It seems you inserted the glossary shortcode in the the page “glossary” that we created automatically , in this case, you can use another page as a Glossary Index page by this way:

1: login wordpress as admin

2: in wordpress dashboard, click tooltips menu item

3: the click “glossary settings” sub menu item, you will open the glossary settings panel

4: in glossary settings panel, locate to the option “Glossary Index Page”, and select another page as Glossary Index Page, this will solve the problem

I apologize for the inconvenience, but we did not receive an email from dear Lukas. Last month, we received some great feedback through the contact form, which is why we created 30 tooltip documents and 20 tooltip versions for our users. I believe this means that some amazing emails and tickets did not reach us properly. I will try to contact our hosting provider and check our form, mailbox, and PC to find the reason.

Our developer mentioned that we can take a few more steps to avoid this kind of problem. We will attempt to add a new tooltip addon that allows tooltip users to create an email address mask on the WordPress site. When users hover over the email address mask, we will display the real support email address in a tooltip popup box, along with additional information about support. This way, we can avoid issues with the contact form or mail system. Because this idea originated from your excellent note, we would like to offer you another paid plugin license as a token of our gratitude. ??

Sorry for the delay of the reply, we’ve been caught up in a lot of works in last days, sorry for any miss-understand, you do not need to purchase any license, we will support tab index in wordpress tooltip free version. ??

3 days ago, we have released a new version, this version have a new option to link tooltip keyword in wordpress post to tooltip / glossary term page automatically. The reason why we need this option is because we found it is not all HTML tag support tabindex attribute, only a small percentage of HTML TAGs support the TABINDEX attribute: “input, a link, button, select, iframe, video”….etc, so if we want to support access tooltips with tab key, we need use these HTML tag. So we added a new option to link tooltip keyword in wordpress post to tooltip / glossary term page automatically, in next version of wordpress tooltip free plugin, we will support tab index like what you want, we will released this version a few days later ??

We just realize your requirement in our test version, to support access tooltips with tab key, foucs to display tooltips and blur to hide tooltips ??

We have some troubles when we try to realize it, because our tooltips is included span, but tab key do not support span, it just support a few thing likes link…etc, so we had to change something in our tooltips plugin ??

In the current time, we are realize it in tooltips pro plus version, and we will re-develop free and pro version to support this function too, you will see the new version in next week, may be we need release 2 version to reach the final task, we will report again ??
