In reply to: website name change, same server, not moving filesbecause in wp (at least my site) the images on my pages have the following link structure:
src=”https://my domain.com/wordpress/wp-content/uploads/2011/11/COL_Free_std_Shipping_03.gif”
When I place an image on a page it creates that link.

In reply to: theme REQUIRES image for every postSo your talking about when there are post on say the homepage(like a recent posts feed) in a 3 column format. Without an image with each post there would be a gap and the 3 column would look awkward with say one image missing and the 2 other columns having an image?
I guess that’s true but on a single column blog page it does not pose a problem.
I can see the point now. I guess there’s no way to achieve both then.

In reply to: theme REQUIRES image for every postI do not know what you mean by “provided it was documented”
I’m not looking to discuss if the theme communicated this “style choice” to customers.
What I’m disputing is it’s relevance in the world of blogs or just general communication.
Since when is it normal for every post to ALWAYS have an image associated with it.
So now when you make a post about something you need to ALWAYS find an image that is related in some way. Thats the part that is not logical in any way.

In reply to: theme REQUIRES image for every postOne last question.
Does it seem ridiculous that they created a theme that REQUIRES an image with every post?
When i found that out it made no sense to me.
I cant imagine they do not have a fix for this.
Thanks

In reply to: theme REQUIRES image for every postIt’s a paid theme. It’s Mondeo: https://themeforest.net/item/mondeo-corporate-portfolio-wordpress-theme/full_screen_preview/303838
I figured there’s no way you guys will know every theme so whats the point of posting the theme. But if that helps…
I know how to remove the images all together in posts per the themes support but they will not explain how to fix it so it shows no image if there is no image included in a post. So it’s all images turned on or all images turned off. I can post the template code that supposedly controls it but figured that would be too much code to post here.
Would you like me to paste the code for that?
If the fix for this involves too much to explain in these help forums I understand. Just let me know if thats the case and I will use a filler image (websites logo) to be the space holder when there are no images instead of the NO-IMG png file that the theme uses.
Thanks

In reply to: plugin compatability questionok. Thanks Esmi.
So that means if that plugin is VERY important to my sites functionality I am risking updating to the latest version of WP and having it not work?
I did backup my entire site using BackWpup ( as far as what I read that plugin does that) but I don’t want to have to resort to going back and reinstalling to the older version of the site. Because if I do that I know I will be missing something and the site will come down. Things like that never go smoothly.
So I guess I am not sure what to do….

In reply to: gallery question remove thumbnailsOk i think i know whats controlling it.
When i make these galleries i guess i am using a custom post type called portfolio. It looks like a native wp control panel for Portfolios but I couldn’t find anything on PORTFOLIOS in the codex. So I assumed it had to do with custom post types and it was created for this theme.
In the wp admin panel there is a section called Portfolio> All Project> Add New project>Project Categories>Project Tags>Portfolio Types>Sort Projects.
When I look at some of my projects in the list view it has x amount of headings. One of the headings is description. In the description area is not text (as I want it) but instead it’s a preview of the thumbnails.
Problem is it’s too complicated for me to explain and since I don’t know about custom post types and how the PORTFOLIO admin section was created I don’t know how to fix it.
The theme has it’s own CP that allows me to turn on and off the DESCRIPTION of the project and that gets rid of the thumbnails but it also gets rid of the text description.
I must be using the PORTFOLIO system to show my galleries incorrectly.

In reply to: gallery question remove thumbnailsyes.
They didn’t work.
I looked at my themes files and cant find a place that addresses galleries or has the word “galleries” in it for me to track down what part of my theme is creating or modifying the gallery.
